Bottom line is, this is a guy who's admitting his mistakes, learned from it and wants to do something good to make up for it. And that's EXACTLY what a person should do. Not lie more, deny facts and keep the shit ball going.

Had he stood up to trumpet and said it just isn’t right he would have been a hero to women. Instead he agreed with the monster and laughed like a school girl . He’s sorry-he got caught being a coward. He’s sorry he got caught being a misogynist. He’s sorry he got fired . He’s still acting the same way . On the recent video of him speaking with the look alike rock police Lt. He said I’ll bet there are girls / women lined up to get in trouble to get in the back of your police car. They deleted my comment and blocked anyone else from commenting too.@Billybush#accesstv @Access @duanejohnson @stephencolbert

So you think it’s “funny” that Trump assaults & rapes women? And you equate his victims to “gold diggers” ? Would you say that if he groped or raped your mother, daughter, sister, girlfriend, or other loved one? BTW, it’s “should’ve” not “should of.” And there’s no demonizing a criminal.

This is a really great interview. Colbert held him responsible for his action, Bush took full responsibility and kept the focus on victims, and they made it funny without being inappropriate. I'm really impressed. He made a bad choice and is really trying to be better. I think at the time, firing him may have been the right move, but I hope he can start to redeem himself and get back to his job.

He takes responsibility for as the minimum that he absolutely has to. There is tape, he is accountable for that. He rejects any extra responsibility. Even Trump took that much responsibility. This is quite business. No morality. They give him this opportunity to bring Trump down. I have no problem with doing this. But with all the harm from Trump, there are some good that he did, involuntarily. One of them is kicking the ass of some people that deserved it
@gobbedy

Yeah, I mean... he was kind of just there. He didn't react accordingly with 'dude, that's fucked up' (though, I suspect having someone confess that to you is weird enough that you don't react properly), but... the 'locker-room talk' argument _would_ be valid if it weren't for him confessing to sexual assault on the tape. It's strange that _he's_ the one that gets punished the most. +Helen Kistler ...what would he be apologizing for though? Most of his reactions on the tape are just laughter (which can be interpreted in a few different ways); he never confesses to anything, and given the circumstances, he might have pieced something together like "wait, wtf, did he just say 'grab 'em by the pussy'‽ I guess he means with permission because there's no way he'd tell me if it were sexual assault I mean, that would be a ridiculous thing to tell me. Yeah, he just left out that detail, it's obvious". For example. I'm not saying it _was_, but I'm saying there's nothing he really needs to apologize for. *EDIT*: (probably should have watched the video first) He gives a better example: he thought it was a joke, not an actual narration. He was wrong.

He could have handled it better, yeah. But it seems like when someone makes a really uncomfortable and inappropriate comment and a lot of people have a sort of fumbling, deer-in-the-headlights reaction.

Unless that "someone" is a person in a position of power. Trump has a lot of power and could've strongly advanced Billy's career with the wave of his magic money wand. Calling Trump out could have jeopardized Billy's relationship with him and at the very least caused immense awkwardness during their shoot together. So I totally get Billy's explanation that he was just laughing along. If I were in his position, I would've probably done the same thing. (Except asking that actress to hug Trump cuz that was weird af).

On the tape, there is one guy bragging, his tone of voice is comfy, it's easy to get the notion this is something he is accustomed to do. The other guy's tone of voice is a little nervous, his laughter is uneasy. When Melania said her husband was 'egged on' by Bush, I lost most of the little sympathy I had for her. And while trump's behavior is disgusting, Bush's behavior is cringey. What causes the first guy to be elected president and the second guy to be fired? - Double standards? More like triple, quadruple, quintuple standards..

Whatever you may think of him, there were no press releases about him checking into a retreat. Usually celebrities make a big show about going to rehab. Bush likely actually wanted to look inward and "do the work." I don't understand the people still holding his feet to the flame, saying he should be branded a sexual predator himself and never work again. Some things are unforgivable, Billy Bush's behavior doesn't come close to that level. Most people don't have the misfortune of having their 10 year old poor decisions go on trial in the media and pilloried for over a year.

I honestly don’t think billy is a bad person. I feel like he just was in an uncomfortable position and tried to laugh it off. (Also the fact that he even said he was trying to kiss up to him) yes, what he did was wrong but I feel like he is very remorseful and sincere when he talks about this. Don’t hate on this man anymore he’s had enough. Hate on the one who ACTUALLY made these extreme sexual assault comments. & sadly it is the president of the United States.

If you ever had a child. Even if you won't, even if you don't. Do you want him/her to live in a world like this? Let's break this shit down. If the allegations to trump aren't true. In the minuscule chance... It's still demeaning. How the fuck'd you feel if let's say you had a daughter, and she really liked dressing very pretty. There were happy moments in childhood where you bonded over all of the moments where she'd drag you to the clothing stores to get better outfits. Sure it may have been annoying in the moment, but you cherish those moments later. She graduates high school, then college. She decides she wants to be a model for those pretty outfits. Then you hear from this douche running for president "I moved on her like a bitch, I don't even wait" How'd you feel. For your kid, those moments that you dreaded and now cherished at those stores seeing her happy face. How'd you feel if then she's reduced from all of those memories, all of those moments bonding to just "She's a bitch in heat"

Everyone's definition of bad is different. Though I think he was just doing his job, which some people might interpret as bad or good or neither I suspect Billy Bush's job was to kiss ass and get access to celebrities. He probably did his job too well since he got Trump to say those things to him. Unfortunately, we will never know the full story since I bet he had to sign some sort of agreement to be silent on specifics concerning his job at NBC in return for that $9 million settlement.

Billy may or may not be sincere, but if you ask me, he doesn't seem like he's BSing here. He said and did stupid things, maybe from peer pressure, maybe because he wasn't a great person at the time. But he at least seems like he feels remorse for being a tool, and a desire to change into a better person, which would put him *miles* ahead of Drumpf, who still believes himself to be the best, smartest, most effective, most persecuted man in the world.

Trump has dementia / Alzheimer's just like his father. In old interviews from the 90s he never acted like this. It’s the kind of thing that contributes to a pro-rape, anti-respect culture targeted at women. Maybe if you people had gone with Sanders instead of a female that makes Trump look like a saint, you could have won. BUT you chose to sabotage Sanders and follow the female. Lesson: if you want to win an election chose someone who did not steal hundreds of millions from the poorest of all the poor nations in the planet, call HAITI, whose people (almost all black) still are even poorer than before. It's called KARMA, the evil that people do will sooner or later catch up. By the way, Obama, left "African" Americans with the highest unemployment rate in the US, INCLUDING ILLEGALS. And his training centers in poor black neighborhoods was as fake as it comes and never showed up. I can't believe some "African" Americans still vote for the Democrats, must be self hate. I'm hoping you are just using a Swahili name and are not from the African continent, because as people who are actually from Africa and move to the US know that "African" Americans see actual Africans as inferiors. (I'm not using the term "blacks" because "African" Americans and blacks are two distinct groups. Blacks probably have no issue with blacks from Africa.)

Speaking as a sa survivor no woman wants to talk about this. These women knew he shouldn't be president because of what he did to them.

I don't appreciate his sense of humor or how he acted with Trump but it's one thing to go too far with a bad joke and it's another to sexually assault 20 women. I'm glad he can see the effect of what happened.

Liz C I agree. Billy Bush's laughter sounded like nervous laughter to me... the way you might react when your boss tells an ethnic joke at work. Also, I know that I laughed the first time I heard that tape. A lot of people did. We weren't laughing with him, we were laughing at him.

Billy Bush wasn't just an innocent bystander who just giggled a little bit he actually instigated Donald Trump demonstrating what he was just talking about on the bus on that young lady when they got off the bus. He actually suggested that the young lady let Donald Trump hug her and Donald Trump moved in on the woman grabbed her and hugged her and kissed her and Billy Bush laughed because he was demonstrating what he had just talked about on the bus and that is what pissed people off. That young lady had no clue that she was the butt of their little inside joke.

Kathryn Smith ya right Kathryn...,men are never the butt of the joke amongst women, so what? A group of men sharing sexual banter, oh the immorality...welcome to the real world. We don't care about your sodomy or your sexual exploits or attempts at such, as long as you didn't force yourself on anyone. And if you had a lapse in judgement 20 yrs ago, to further your acting career by sleeping with a producer, well then...This is not a defence of the likes of Weinstein or Lauer or their type. Men as much as women are sexual objects, and as much as some people would like to erase this fact, biology and nature will not allow it. So if a man is relating a story about how he tried to make some girl...but not by force, what moral law has he violated. Certainly not the law of nature or his biological disposition. What is there to apologize for? Maybe the crass and forthright manner in which Trump exposed the mentality of the pussy grabbing Hollywood elites...' when you're a star you can do anything...' Did Trump, in that audio ever say that he engages in this type of behaviour? No.

Jim Marcinko What's your point there? It's okay for some people to be horrible because other people are horrible too? Have some higher standards. Yea, it's not a gender thing, both genders can be terrible people. Funny how this has become a typical go to response "well, that person is terrible so hey, we should all have no standards!"

Guilt by association. Our country really needs to learn to stop being so REACTIVE. However on another note, if this experience caused him to review his life and grow spiritually, that is never a bad thing

While I agree that it was wrong what they did to him. I don't think we should be ignoring people who are associating with guilty people. For example, being friends with a person who is a serial killer. If you knew that the person is doing that and you didn't stop it, then you should also share the blame.

I like how he puts in in the Op-Ed: "None of us were guilty of knowingly enabling our future president. But all of us were guilty of sacrificing a bit of ourselves in the name of success" The general problem still exists, but I'm glad Mr. Bush saw what he was doing in the name of his success, enabling this behavior
