Biologist here, currently on expedition to Antarctica. You are correct Dom, no Musca domestica in Antarctica, in fact there are virtually no insects on the continent (only on sub Antarctic islands), but there are flies, well, specifically midges here, in summer. As you can imagine, it is very easy to bring invasive insect species when you travel, hijacking on your clothing and personal things, so we have to treat our clothing to avoid that before we fly south. Thanks for the podcast Billy and Dom, have been really enjoying listening to you both!

Uh oh, Johnny Clues screwed up again. Merry and Pippin are first cousins. He's also cousins to Frodo but once removed. The player was correct with her answer, which means there should of been no tie breaker and she should win the T-shirt. Must make this right lol

'In Japanese, 'momo' means 'peach' or 'a hundred/a lot'. 'Fuku' has multiple meanings, including the verbs 'to blow/puff/spurt' or figuratively 'to brag/boast' (one supposes the connotation is akin to the English '(full of) hot air), the collective noun 'clothes', and the abstract nouns 'abundance/riches/luck/happiness/good fortune/blessings'. The most appealing translations of 'momofuku' then are probably 'lucky peach/es' or 'lots of luck'.

Hi guys, Much love from me to y’all and your families 💕 I’ve just found your channel, subscribed (cause you’re awesome) and have binged your shows. Would you ever consider David Paulidis coming on your show? He does the series’s “missing 411” and his stories are fascinating and terrifying. I’d LOVE to see the three of you talk. You’d bring such an interesting aspect of questions for his research!! Either way, love y’all and will continue to listen! PS- love the swear word challenge for LOTR, wish I had a clever addition for you to read 😩 Edited addition, after further listening to the video: Absence makes the heart grow fonder; however out of sight out of mind. So for some long distance relationships work, and for some, they don’t. No shame in a failed long distance relationship.

on Sunday nite I dreamed I kidnapped Billy Boyd away from Dominic Monaghan, led Dom on a high speed car chase around some road construction, through a barrier on an overpass that turned out to be unfinished so the car went off the edge before I saw it coming, we flew through the air slowly enough and were high enough that we climbed out of car windows and jumped off the side like free divers and I told Bills not to worry and just enjoy the feeling of flying because it would all be over before we hit the ground . . . and then I woke up, thinking maybe I was just too excited to wait for the next episode of The Friendship Onion - dreams are so weird sometimes 😜

Awsome podcast..i have some ideas for 'eat the world" you two should try "Fairy bread" its white slice bread with butter and sprinkles.. unsure if its an Australian childrens party thing or something common world wide. Or a "spider" vanilla ice cream in Coca-Cola.. Also an Australian drink. There is also a traditional south italian (Calabria) spicy spread called Nduja..its usually eaten on italian bread but you can put it in some pasta ,pizza or simply spread it on warm crusty italian bread wich i recomend..warning it is not vegan and is spicy. Or you can try "burrata" if you can get a hold of it..not vegan either.
