I remember the 60's too with Radio Caroline, Radio Nord Sea and Radio Monica and Billy Fury performing at the Poco a Poco Cabaret Stockport and other venues around Manchester and beyond. Lovely memories, lovely times and like you said Michael 'never will repeated ever' We have been fortunate to have lived through a wonderful time of music, cultural change, romance and happiness something that our lovely young of today will never know. Take care happy memories.

What a great artist Billy Fury was ... I play the Violin ... / Fiddle and often play some of Billys Songs that are so timeless Such as Halfway to Paradise and Jealousy I remember my sister, since also passed away, playing these on 45" vinyl ... And Jukeboxes would run hot with these sounds, over a Coffee or a Coke, in our local Café at the time

A once-upon a dream Fury, way too cool to have been a Decca teen-idol, the only UK rock-ballad singer in the 60's too suave-jive his way to heartthrob notoriety. Elvis' twin would have achieved far more if not for his blasted illness, yet thanks to Marty Wild, kept Fury's stage-act legacy at the very top of the real class act charts!

A wonderful artist that was so influential to the British rock 'n' roll movement of the early 1960's. I grew up with his records! Billy played his last gig just a few miles from my then home. I wanted to go to the gig but for several reasons I didn't make it. Big mistake! I often think about how important it was and how it would have meant to me.

Time travel comes to mind. I always had a gist of the future, as in precognition, and wondered if retro cognition could be possible. Thanks to Billy Fury's video I now have a glint of understanding. Precognition (a look into the future) is just a memory of things that have not happened yet, as with retro cognition which is a memory of the past which has happened.

I have to plead ignorance as to who Billy Fury was. All I can say is WOW, what a great singer he was! I have heard Halfway To Paradise a long time ago. Great song. I was amazed that his heart condition didn't prevent him doing a good live rendition of these hits. Better than Elvis??? By Billy's own admission,Elvis is where he came from, as was the case for Cliff, The Beatles and most who those who mushroomed in the early sixtees. Yes, Billy Fury was good.

Billy really looks poorly on this video but what a voice he had. He wrote so many of his own hits and was a great, not fully realised talent. I believe rheumatic fever when he was young had much to do with his later health issues.

Many people saying " he didn't get the recognition he deserved" are wrong, he was a major star and hitmaker from the late 50s through to the early 60s, he was a tv regular during this time and even starred in 2 films, he certainly got recognition. He went bankrupt in the early 70s for paying no income tax since 1962 considering the huge record sales and other work he had from 59-65, I find it strange how he'd spent all his fortune, he even hooked up with an Heiress in the early 70s. A lot of far less successful singers from this period retired and lived off of the millions they earned during their heyday and paid tax on as well

My Billy Fury Dance Show to be performed at the Shaw Theatre, London in April 2016 uses actual recordings accompanied by dancers and a narrator telling the Billy Fury Story. There will be 14 performances over 10 days with 4 matinee's. Although the recordings were made many years ago the songs are as relevant today as they were when they were first recorded.
