I worked with Billy Hayes on Boston Legal. He is not only an incredible person with an incredible story, he's genuinely a helluva nice guy. Hello Billy, good to see you again! (Lu Johnson)

I enjoyed this interview and have followed this issue since I saw Midnight Express in 1978 as a teenager. I am in my 60's now. My takeaway from this is that if you go to another country, play it safe and don't even have over the counter Tylenol in your luggage. But I understand the young people looking at me as an old paranoid fool. Well, if they end up in foreign jail, they cannot say that I didn't warn them. Good luck in their smuggling and prison careers.

This was simply an amazing interview!! Probably our favorite that you’ve ever done . We’ve seen this movie quite a few times , and to actually hear the accounts from Billy him self was amazing. I would love to order his books . Do you know if he sells signed copies ? Just Fabulous Stefan 💕💕

To me , it seems this guy is a classic example of being stuck in time..i feel for this guy it's only yesterday when he was banged up and then got out again...he never grew up past then..I could be wrong, but listening to him, I don't think so.

"This guy", It's Billy Hayes...have some respect. And he's not "stuck in time" it's a fascinating story...even to this day

I thought the film was crap considering it was the absolute incredible Alan Parker.

This man learned nothing. He is talking about great hashish. Didn't he suffer enough because of this drug.

Ugh...It's hashish...not Heroin. It's freakin legal now (weed)...that's kinda the point

The lower people are in jail and the boss is free. Sad.

still not the whole truth. Ask Billy about George ... whom he forgot to mention in his book but who saved him and probably died because of that ... and about heroin that was in his plaster leg according to Turkish newspaper of 1970.

It was hash in his leg cast..I knew him when he got a way with it previously

@@tlennox2991 may be, Tom. He could have changed it to make a better profit. Who knows? I knew him cause I stayed next bed in Bayrampasa prison in 1975. And I know that journalist who saw that Turkish newspaper. Perhaps I can get a copy one day, I'll try. Cheers.

Prime example of someone who couldn't do the time. If you are dumb enough to smuggle drugs then you deserve whatever happens to you.

Great response...I bet you're a hoot to hang out with...and of course, you're totally missing the point

You don't deserve 30 years... The judge initially gave him 4 years... But the American wankaz wanted more time
