Sorry disco was in the late Seventies after the eighties hit it became more of heavy metal and glamor band and boy bands and alternative pop but a lot of the singers experimented with some of the older types of music.

Yes, Tommy James And The Shondells are the original group that did Mony Mony in 1968 and Billy Idol did the song in 1987, Billy Idol, in my opinion just made the song better with a faster tempo, but both versions did hit number 1 in the uk where it was very popular, but thanks for watching 🙂🙂🙂🙂
