I met my husband at 22 when I moved down to Florida. We loved Billy Idol. He asked me to marry him and white wedding was our marriage song. I am now 63, my husband passed 10 years ago. Every October I think of our wedding and that song.

I always think stories like yours are fairy tales, until I read/hear it come on around, like right now. I like to think all the husbands (past, present, future) out there that were divinely lucky enough to meet wives like yourself, are in the afterlife waiting for you; because to them, Heaven wouldn't be complete without their best friend/lover beside them. Alas, I'm told that that is not the case in the traditional story of Heaven. Be that as it may; If I ever get as lucky as your husband did though, I like to think I would be doing the same if I exit before she did: waiting, for my love/friend.

I was a black kid in the 80’s living in the hood listening and watching Billy Idol and I’m sure my parents thought I was fucking crazy listening to this dark music with some blonde white man wearing lipstick and screaming like a maniac. OK, calm down. It's not like the guy is pulling some super amazing artists out of his kit bag by namedropping Bowie and Generation X's lead singer. An "amazing" taste in music from that and this era would be more like MC5 and X-Ray Spex to pull out of the name hat.

you're forgetting that music taste is a subjective thing :^)
@vaxlair8 жыл бұрын
Musical tastes are subjective, but the quality of an artist's work is not. Simply because whatever was created with an intended purpose can be compared and criticised according to that original purpose. I.E. you make a rock band, you get criticised as a rock band. The is such a thing as being good and bad, that is not subjective and personal tastes do not influence what is subjective or not. So basically, its possible to say a band is better than another and be right.

Hey @Safe Nabors, do you speak to people like that in real life or only from the safety of your keyboard? Look up how to have a respectful conversation with others. If you think your incoming president is on your side, the next four years will be a shock to you. He's also a supporter of Israel.

It all seemed so spontaneous and unique. Nowadays it’s just the same stupid shit over and over again... It all feels so grey, so empty and soulless. Don’t get me wrong: I do appreciate all the commodities we all have today. The problem is that culture wise we’re not moving forward. Just take a look at how people treat that ugly ass cum dumpster Cardi B... They treat her like a god! Just exactly how they treat the other talentless bunch such as Lil Pump or Tekashi 69.
