The Billy Jack movies came out when I was in those awkward high school years and they changed my life. I had always tried to follow the doctrine of, “What Would Billy Jack Do?” And that had a lot to do with my growth as a person. To be fair though, the title of this clip should be “Billy Jack and Bong Soo Han to the Rescue.” Master Han stunt doubled for all the complex Hapkido kicks in the films. His technique was amazing, and he helped to make Billy Jack the bad ass that he was!

What always stood out to me about Billy Jack was the social messages in his movies. Here he was a Dude with an explosive temper hanging out with pacifists. Like Billy said “I tried, I really did.” To accept the turn the other cheek method but he’d never just stand by and let people get victimized. Billy was the guy who would Womp Bullies and protect children, and maybe even have to kill a rapist. Billy Jack was like a Super hero of the highest order!

Actually the first Billy Jack movie was "Born Losers" where Billy takes on a motorcycle gang. You can get "Born Losers" "Billy Jack" "The Trial Of Billy Jack" & "Billy Jack Goes To Washington" all on dvd in one set. I have mine, & these movies REALLY hit home for me, as I myself am Native American & my sister is full Cherokee, & my mom was a full Shawnee. These movies weren't so much about race as they were about how the white man broke most if not all the treaty's they signed & they took away what WAS Indian land. But it was through the "Billy Jack" movies that got me to take an interest in not just the martial arts but Hapkido the same kind that was used in the "Billy Jack" movies.

I tried to make one but couldn't do it. I found other ways to realize my conviction to carry on that idea of setting kids free of mind. In my own way I carried on their legacy, and "my kids" blossomed, learned to think and stand up for themselves and what they understood was right. They are one of my greatest accomplishments in this world and some of my greatest treasures. I know many others were moved to do the same. billy jack is as american as apple pie, and hot dogs, he was the first bad ass, and the best, he never started a fight, but by god, he would finish one

@Shukin Andjivin its an expression. Technically it's the vanity of using His name for your own purpose or desire. You can find better ways to worship than trolling the comment section on KZbin.

I loved the Billy Jack movies growing up. I always hated a bully and it was always so satisfying seeing him dispense justice when the law couldn't or wouldn't. "De Oppresso Liber".

God I miss Tom Laughlin. Billy Jack series was great but his "Master Gunfighter" got so little recognition and was just as good in my opinion. RIP Tom, you are sorely missed but still loved and respected here.
