"I can always find my cuban skies, in Rosalinda's eyes." What a brilliant quote. He refers to the 1940's for this. When the war began, many were wanting to flee Europe, having their dream destination as the United States. To get there they needed to come through Cuba. The Cuban skies in this quote represents freedom, so every time he looks into his mums eyes, he sees freedom, because when the fleers reached Cuba, they saw freedom.

As far as I've heard in the last 50 years, Joel is still the best songwriter around to appeal to the widest audience. I couldn't believe what his ex-wives and others did to him. Regardless you are and will be a legend, I hope you know that after your Kennedy center honors!!
