Bad acid reflux. He can still belt up to an F5 or so, but it is much more difficult than it used to be. He used to sing in a soprano tessitura with relative ease, but now his voice shifted quite a bit lower.

Perhaps on purpose. Lola is a drag queen who performs at a seedy gay bar. There’s a certain sloppiness of it that makes it more believable and comical. At the end of the show, the choreo seems much more structured and put together.
