Oh and believe it or not you wouldn't believe the amount of times I've had kids order like a 10 or 12 things of candies and chips and telling me to leave the bag next to the garage or the side door... I'm very convinced that they probably got the parents app and used it to order stuff

I live in a small town on Vancouver Island, and it's the first time since they came into existence that I haven't had access to Instacart, DoorDash, UberEats or SkipTheDishes. There's a older guy here who delivers various small things for people (typically food related) and there's an app called Feastify, which literally just delivers from McDonalds, a coffee shop (sometimes) and stuff from the fisherman. That's it. I'm about an hour or so south of Victoria. There's a pub, a McDonalds, a Shoppers, a gas station with a mini grocer, a fancy(ish) hotel and a fine dining restaurant on the water that I go to once a week. That's it. I don't miss the deliveries because now I realize the food really wasn't that good. Even if it was from a good restaurant, by the time it got to me, the food was usually lukewarm or cold and needed to be reheated, at which point it was barely edible. I don't eat at McDonald's much, but that's literally the only edible thing I get delivered, because it was barely edible to begin with.

I'm a doordash driver so I can tell you some different stories just on some of the weird things I've ran into just delivering but I'll share a bad delivery I got for this comment: During the height of covid in August 2020 I got sick with it and me and my brother were basically isolated in the house I would do a couple regular deliveries with no problem but a couple days into it I decided you know what I need to make my own food and save some money until I get paid. Forwarded a regular batch of groceries milk all the fixings and a bunch of ingredients for stuff and got it with Walmart same day but later in the afternoon and Gabe explicit directions where to put the stuff as I didn't want anybody to get near me. Dude literally calls me up yelling at me because the gate to the place I was living was locked but I told him to leave it in a little basket that was hanging and just hang the rest of the bags on the fence. After I told him I don't want to go out because I have covid proceeds to throw everything over at the mightiest strength he has smashing all the bread and all the milk spilled everywhere which made my dogs go crazy. dude sped away it was just a contracted doordash driver I got him removed from the service and Walmart immediately sent me replacements for everything but it was a pain in the ass and ran into him 2 months later after and told him hey be careful not to Chuck anything over the fence next time!
