Don is a FANTASIC musician and one of my favorite mandolin players. How he plays off of Billy on the tip of a dime is mind boggling. and his improvisation skills and feel are second to none! watching him play and keep up toe to toe with Dawg was pure testimony to me. Dons “slop” is akin to the grandfather of bluegrass Bill Monroe himself. Clearly some haters have some listening to do, and Billy…Well he gets enough praise as is HA.

Billy's the greatest but I never like Don Julin's playing. Way too sloppy, unimaginative, and just not sweet. Billy's current mando player is really good, fortunately.
