Billy Strings “I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water”

This was recorded at the beginning of the 2nd set of Billy Strings’ December 9, 2021 show at The Eastern in Atlanta, GA. Five days before this performance, country/honky-tonk musician Stonewall Jackson had passed away in Nashville at the age of 89. Jackson covered this Cowboy Joe Babcock song on his own 1963 record “Old Showboat” (recorded @The Grand Ole Opry). Stonewall Jackson grew up on his mother’s farm in Moultrie, deep in the south of Georgia.
Billy’s touring quartet is joined by John Mailander on fiddle.
