@@zizonesol Not Korean, but can speak Korean fairly well and posted on his videos about the Ryugyong Hotel and his Kim Jeong Eun video about some of his pronunciation. As you say, you could easily find out how to say this properly or better than he does, and it'd take a minute. Jeong 정 is one that is always pronounced Jong 종 and I understand how the difference between how North and South Korean is romanised. But still. Takes a minute. Your example of 'chaebol' speaks for itself.

I'm happy Simon kept Lew Wallace's role to a minimum. There are so many factors that went into the offered pardon that get lost that is easy to paint the Governor as a villain. Same with Shiloh, it's easy to paint Wallace as inept or derelict in his duty. Shiloh and the Kid are unfortunate stains on an otherwise brilliant life. His overseeing the Lincoln Conspirators trial, his paintings and drawings, his novels, and his diplomatic career are rarely talked about. Even in Indiana, where Wallace's Study is, few people know about him unless it's in relation to those two events--and if it's not those, it's because of Ben-Hur. Edit: also, must again recommend Cynical Historian's video on Lincoln County War.

Some questions in history leave me asking, "Can't it be both?" This is one example of that. You don't have to justify wrongs to acknowledge that they can be done with good intentions. Is a man who holds up a gas station because he's unemployed and broke and is desperate to feed his child a thief or a concerned father? Yes. What he did was very wrong, but his desire to take care of his child is admirable. There's room for both justice and compassion.

Interesting point about Billy the Kid/Kid Antrim (which is how most locals knew him BTW), and his weapons proficiency. Many neighbors and friends noted that while other guys his age were in the bar, or finding "sporting ladies" he would buy a couple boxes of ammunition and go off-and practice...Also, in the mid-19th Century a 17-18 year old was considered an adult and expected to act like it. What a concept....

I learn a lot about Billy the Kid from Call of Juarez Gunslinger. Billy is in that game and it has a bio card about him which lined up with what ya'll said about him. It went further and said how Pat Garret got a lot of shit from people about how he killed Billy. So Pat wrote a book or something about how blood thirsty and ruthless Billy was.

Very good reaction, and great extra content by yourself. Biographics is a very good channel and has a great catalogue to react to. The one that sticks out to me is the grisly tale of Burke and Hare a little startling but worth a look, it's strange that people call JTR the first serial killer popularised by the press when he wasn't even the first in great Britain to do so.

The Young Guns movies are the most historically accurate Billy the Kid movies out there. Where they aren't accurate to actual history, they're accurate to the widely accepted legends about The Kid. There's also a fair amount of dramatic license, like killing characters that didn't die, killing characters that did die but in the wrong spots and depicting accurate deaths but with different characters because you already killed them off

Tunstall has been played by older actors in every major movie about Billy the Kid and Lincoln County, going all the way back to “The Left Handed Gun” in 1958’ where a 60 year old actor played him. I think the movies do this to make it clear he is a father figure to Billy; it might have confused viewers to see 2 actors around the same age with that dynamic. That, or it’s just tradition at this point.
