“Billy the Kid was the bravest man I ever knew. He did not know what fear meant. Everyone who knew him loved him. He was kind and good to poor people, and he was always a gentleman, no matter where he was. When in danger, he was the coolest man I ever saw- he acted like a flash from a gun. He was quick as kitten and when he aimed his pistol and fired, something dropped; he never missed his mark. - Hijinio (Yginio) Salazar (Regulator and close friend)

Wasn't "yginio" the mexican on part 2 who tried to shoot Billy with a gun under his poncho? Billy shoots him and says "damn it yginio" not saying there the same but you know how Hollywood is sometimes

@@mousessportscards4050 Yes like you said Hollywood loll ..Young gun movie is more fiction then really .. Exp Doc Scurlock Died July 25, 1929 (aged 80) in the movie he die in a gun fight ! Fact about Doc -Doc went to Mexico in about 1870. While there, he and another man had an argument over a card game and drew their pistols. The other man shot first and the bullet went through Doc's mouth, knocking out his front teeth and coming out the back of his neck without any more serious damage. He quickly returned fire and killed the man who shot him. Scurlock moved to Texas, where he settled down and became a highly respected citizen. Same thing whit (Jose Chavez y Chavez)(1851-1924) Chavez y Chavez joined the Regulators in his twenties, Chavez y Chavez became adrift after Billy the Kid's death in 1881, traveling across the American Southwest, sometimes without any particular destination in mind. Chavez y Chavez eventually became a deputy sheriff, but he allegedly was not able to leave his life as a desperado, becoming friends with Vicente Silva and joining Silva's two gangs, In 1894, several men were arrested and brought to the courts of law in connection with the killing of Patricio Maes. Chavez y Chavez became a fugitive, but he was eventually arrested on May 26. A jury found him guilty, and he was given the death sentence. In a retrial, Chavez y Chavez was again given a death sentence. This decision was later overturned by a new Governor in New Mexico During a jail riot, Chavez y Chavez helped the police. Subsequently, on January 11, 1909, New Mexico's Governor George Curry granted him a pardon. For the remaining fifteen years of his life, Chavez y Chavez led a relatively quiet life, and he died of natural causes at his home in 1924, with a friend by his side.

Haha, I did a high school English report on Tunstall. We had moved from Lincoln county to Tombstone, AZ and I was so depressed and homesick that I wrote a report on him. I used to watch the movies frequently but haven’t seen them for years until the other day-I knew if I watched them, I’d get homesick. But I’ve been wanting to go back to New Mexico since I became an adult and been seriously considering it for several months now-and watching the movies is my motivation. I never realised how profound the lyrics to Jon Bon Jovi's track were in relation to Billy's life story. Incredible. "Blaze Of Glory" I wake up in the morning And I raise my weary head I got an old coat for a pillow And the earth was last night's bed I don't know where I'm going Only God knows where I've been I'm a devil on the run A six gun lover A candle in the wind When you're brought into this world They say you're born in sin Well at least they gave me something I didn't have to steal or have to win Well they tell me that I'm wanted Yeah I'm a wanted man I'm a colt in your stable I'm what Cain was to Abel Mister catch me if you can I'm going down in a blaze of glory Take me now but know the truth I'm going down in a blaze of glory Lord I never drew first But I drew first blood I'm no one's son Call me young gun You ask about my conscience And I offer you my soul You ask If I'll grow to be a wise man Well I ask if I'll grow old You ask me if I known love And what it's like to sing songs in the rain Well, I've seen love come And I've seen it shot down I've seen it die in vain Shot down in a blaze of glory Take me now but know the truth 'Cause I'm going down in a blaze of glory Lord I never drew first But I drew first blood I'm the devil's son Call me young gun Each night I go to bed I pray the Lord my soul to keep No I ain't looking for forgiveness But before I'm six foot deep Lord, I got to ask a favor And I'll hope you'll understand 'Cause I've lived life to the fullest Let this boy die like a man Staring down the bullet Let me make my final stand Shot down in a blaze of glory Take me now but know the truth I'm going out in a blaze of glory Lord I never drew first But I drew first blood and I'm no one's son Call me young gun I'm a young gun

Pretty sure the truth is somewhere in the middle...when you kill a lot of people its hard to always get it right
@champyelcaballo15304 жыл бұрын
@@patrickguinnane .....Yea the numbers and stories certainly get skewed especially when you're talking about the Old West. The point I made on another post is that nowadays some on the internet literally take memes as fact/news!! If that happens today then over time the "truth" about what happened before, say, 1940, certainly lacks credibility!! Big time. In fact when I see a documentary or something that is supposedly based on "facts" from the time before 1960 I take it with a grain of salt!!! There is just to much that has come out just recently that suggests how much of the "facts", "news" or "history" of the world was/is controlled by certain people, groups and/or governments to say that MOST of what we were told is bull$hit!! I'm not a tin foil hat guy or anything like that but there is just to much contradiction going on these days!!! The thing I find most fascinating about the Old West and Billy is that it's something that is entertaining. It's just cool to think of the stuff that went on back then. I think that's where movie critics and the like take things too seriously. Movies are made for 3 reasons. 1-Education. If done correctly a movie an educate people because those that do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. Problem is directors gotta do there homework and make sure the script is correct fact wise. 2-Entertainment!!! To escape reality. Fantasize about the characters. Immerse yourself in a fantasy world and when you're done watching the movie you walk out and go back to your real life. Don't take it so seriously!!! Who cares if Luke Skywalker killed Harry Potter or whatever!!! It's just FUN!!! 3-MONEY!!! MAKE MONEY!!! Don't fool yourself!! A director will only make movies later in his career for "artistic integrity" and not the money!! But you know why he can make movies later in his career and not concern himself about money?? Because those other 10 movies before his "artistic freedom" had Adam Sandler in it playing himself and his best friend a gold fish, did a movie with Marky Mark who's best friend is a talking dildo or Nicholas Cage showing Baby O God does exist!!! They sell out and then get a hankering to go back to there roots!!! Sadly it ends up the same for most of them!! Trying to get Jenna Jameson to phuck a sea turtle that turns out to be her step son!!! Sad!!! I've seen it a billion times l!!!! Sorry about the long comment!! Cabin fever ain't no joke and I've been in prison!!! AT PELICAN BAY!!! hahaha!!

I thought I was crazy when I posted this video! LOl I had just come back from a trip to New Mexico where I'd gone all over the state following the story of Billy The Kid. I never knew there was so much love out there for his story or these movies. Will it hit 1,000,000 views?!

Unfkn real but impressive how Emilio fkn Estevez captured the soul and essense of Billy the kid enough to reverberate as a now classic cinematic moment. Right place right time i guess, glad it came to be.
