These movies were so great. Young Guns was a true rebirth for the entire western genre. As a kid, I couldn't stand the old westerns dad used to always watch....but Young Guns did for me what John Wayne did for him. Several of my favorite movies ever are post Young Guns westerns. Tombstone.....3:10 To Yuma.......but Young Guns is still my favorite.

9:45 Ok i've seen YG2 probably 20 times and this just confused the hell out of me. It was my understanding that Billy the Kid wasn't killed and during this scene he is trying to hire an attorney to help him get his pardon because he found out he's dying. He used the alias Bill Roberts, obviously. If that was the case then why would they be concerned that Emilio would look like an old Billy considering he is playing the younger version?

Indeed, and Doc did not die in a Shootout - In fact that's when he walked away from Billy... He returned to being a School Teacher but only lived a few more years before dying from Tuberculosis! His grave and the Public Record of his death can still be seen as they are protected by the US Government as Historically significant. (I continued watching and realised I had made a mistake... he lived quite a long time! LOL!) That being said, The movie is based on the Events as relayed by "Brushy" Bill Roberts... Who as the movie rightly claims did suggest he was Billy The Kid, Little is known about Bill Roberts... And the events he relayed probably did stray far from truth as he did not know the full history of the Gang. To his mind, and to his understanding, Doc did die in a Shootout ... The fact that there is a Grave where Doc is Buried may not have been known to him!
@yanlevesque3392Ай бұрын

@@yanlevesque3392 Many tales of them were quite well known from what I understand... Bill Roberts was not the first to come forward claiming to be The Kid... It was particular details he knew of Billy's Final Years that convinced many to "Believe Him" ... There were a few details he relayed in his stories that could only have been known to someone who was there at the time... During Billy's final years... However, Despite many testifying that he was Billy and despite scars that did match those reputed to be on The Kid... His claims were dismissed and he died as Mere Bill Roberts. Judges did not accept his claims, Even if teh Solicitor who represented him did...
@yanlevesque3392Ай бұрын
@@Phoenix2312 Roberts couldn't speak spanish and he couldn't read nor write, 3 things that Billy was known to be good at so it was easy to dismiss that he was the kid, but yeah he knew so many details that there is a high possibilty that he was a regulator, or a really close friend of Billy

Without starting too much of a war here. Wayne was good in the small cameo role that was a nod to the type westerns his father made. Peterson was a stage actor and was a solid actor who could act. Not saying Patrick could not act he just could not bring what Peterson did to the movie
