This is the first time I have seen this film since it came out in November 1971. Back then as a teenager I did not feel the full impact. Now as an aging adult, especially with a wife from East Germany, it truly hits on a new level. With what we see taking place in 2023 all believers must prepare to be faithful as never before. I really recommend the book, it is even more powerful than the film. It made me wish that I had known the Ten Booms, yet I felt that I knew them through the book. It is beautifully written & God must have put His Hand in it.

Rubbish. I loved God followed him praised him he drove me away because I was not predestined. Not able to afford basic needs church abandoned me left me socially isolated didn't help. That line's stuck with me ever since I read the book, and it always will be with me. I didn't know there was a film of The Hiding Place, and I didn't know it was on here either! It was an amazing book, an amazing story. Another thing that will always stay with me is that when Corrie's Father was buying a train ticket to go somewhere, I think he was literally doing that, and Corrie asked him something about having the strength to do something, it's years since I read the book, and I can't remember all the details of it, but Corrie's Father said to her that like when he'll give her the ticket just before she gets on the train, God will give us the strength to do something just at the time when we need it. That's very powerful, and it will always stay with me. The whole book's incredibly powerful, and it had a tremendous impact on me. I'll watch this film sometime. I had no idea it was on KZbin. I was looking for something else, and I'm pleased I saw it.

I have visited the JEWELRY shop of the TEN BOOM family in Holland because from this story we never stop learning about "how to love," "how to forgive," "how to endure" and much more. I am "young" enough to keenly remember the series "Holocaust" on TV in the late 70s. This had a profound impact on my life. Then, when I became a follower of Jesus, "The Hiding Place" had an even more profound impact on my life. I eventually became a high school teacher of history and social studies and swore that I would not neglect teaching the history of the Shoah as I taught the other important history, too. I love each and every one of my students and teach them the full orb of US and World history. I thank God for this movie and I continue to serve Him.

I had a difficult time with forgiveness too. It took a long time forcing myself to call out the names of those I wanted to forgive me and saying I forgave them and asking their forgiveness before I actually started meaning it. Start with saying the words and eventually you supernaturally begin to actually mean it.

Interestingly - the message I took from The Hiding Place is that of forgiveness, and the need to love even those who wrong us. The last scene of the book is one of the most powerful I have ever read. Corrie goes to Germany to teach the story of God’s love and forgiveness. There she encounters one of the guards from Ravensbruck. He asks for her forgiveness. At first she feels she cannot do it, but prays. Then warmth, love and forgiveness flow through her to him.

My dad was in WWII, not in battle, but in training in electronics. He was stationed in southern Italy, Corsica, and 2 other islands, and northern Africa. When he came back to the states, they put him near a base, I think in Arizona. He was not put in the base itself but was told to look at a small plane just by the fence and told to study it very carefully. He was also told that he would have a group of men to train on a top secret basis. He did just that, in electronics. To make a long story short, it ended up being the crew of the Enola Gay that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima!! Dad never came out of that right. He had a mental breakdown about 8-9 years later and blamed himself for the deaths of millions of people. I told him he saved or helped save the lives of millions. He was a wonderful---the best, but Mom said he NOT the same. WAR IS HELL!! To me, dad was an unsung hero!! May we ALL honor others like DAD!!!!!😂😍😇❤‍🩹🤍💙💯👍🙏🙏🙏🗽🗽🗽🗽🗽🌠🌠🌟⭐🔥🔥🔥🎆🎉🛐✝

Thank you so much for your very touching and emotional story of your dear Dad. Yes, war is hell. My father-in-law served during the second World war for the British armed forces. He was a Captain; I remember I would often ask him questions about the war and for the most part he would answer them. However, one day my little daughter asked him if he had ever killed anybody. He went completely silent, and his eyes glazed over, he put his head down, then stood up gently and excused himself from the table. I couldn't help but wonder what he had seen, what he had commanded, and what he had done. I never asked any more questions about the war ever again. I totally identified with your Dad and the effect of the war on him. I am weeping as I write this, because like your own dear father, my father-in-law was a wonderful man too, and yes, they were heroes. Every fibre in their being battled against everything they experienced, everything they had to do, and everything they had to be part of . I don't believe you even have to be a Christian to be devastated mentally emotionally and psychologically by war. All we can do is thank the Lord for brave and wonderful men like that who put themselves in harm's way to defend our freedoms, and frequently at a very high cost. Your Dad was one such man.
