Billy Kyle You say in the video that the Mavic fly more combo comes with a power bank adapter. What does it do? First time I'm hearing about this..
@ethang1057 жыл бұрын
Qasim the power bank can charge up to four batteries one after another by just plugging them in to the four slots
@ainjhel237 жыл бұрын
Sorry to correct you, Ethan Goore. Qasim, the Power Bank Adapter is for charging your phone or any other gadgets after plugging it in on the power port of your mavic pro battery. and using the USB out connector to attach to your phone or gadget. The Mavic Pro Battery becomes an instant power bank.

I have had my mavic pro for almost a month and I love it. I upgraded from a phantom 3 standard which was a great starting drone, but the mavic pro has had no problems and is great for making short videos. I got the Mavic because I'm going to Alaska this summer and thought it would be great to hike and travel with.
@FacPhoto7 жыл бұрын
I have both the MP and P4P and agree totally regarding the cameras. However, that's when you compare them directly. 99% of what people do with drones (i.e. posting videos on KZbin) really do not need to shoot at the maximum capabilities of the P4P. Beside this, i have the Mavic with me pretty much everywhere I go. So I still think the MP has more real world practicality than the P4P. Its nice to have both though. :-) Of course for Photography the P4P is a clear winner.

The camera performance is like a crop factor vs a full frame, better in low light plus resolve more details (Phantom vs Mavic) however, if you are not pixel peeking or a professional, the average person will not know. The inspire series uses professional lens which outclass both Mavic and phantom series.
@mikefas54067 жыл бұрын
Floyd005 spot on. The average person is amazed with my mavic footage.
@braydonedwards56707 жыл бұрын
Floyd005 actually there is only ONE inspire camera that is better than p4pro camera, and that's the Zenmuse X5S which is 1800 alone. The p4pro camera is the same as the Zenmuse x4s! Look it up! The mavic cam isnt even comparable to a Zenmuse x3 😁😂
@ZorbaTheDutch7 жыл бұрын
The Mavic cam has manual or auto-focus, the Zenmuse X3 is fixed-focus. Mavic lens is f 2.2, X3 is f 2.8. Yup, not comparable.
@tolinof797 жыл бұрын
the x3 blows the mavic away. it's a very sharp camera .

I'm most likely not the first one who will mention it but Mavic's flight time is 27 minutes, not 21. Of course, 27 minutes is just on paper but I personally have up to 24 minutes of flight with a fully charged battery during calm weather and not flying it in sport mode.
@Hollywood65667 жыл бұрын
I've flown both the phantom and the Mavic Pro- I own the Mavic, small, smart and handles flawlessly in heavy wind. But one thing you didn't make a comparison on- the blades! Phantoms blade are fixed- bump into anything and your screwed, the Mavics blades fold, bump into anything and you have a chance to fly out of trouble because there is a little give because the blades fold.

I don't consider this a comparison. I see this as a way to show you the pros and cons of both. Honestly it comes down to this. If you are planning to go professional then you should go for the P4P, been a commercial pilots we don't care about portability. if you going to be doing some mapping and professional grade work, I would suggested the p4p because of the mechanical shutter and 20 mp. Now if you just want to do it for fun the Mavic is perfect.

The Average Consumer and Average Viewer of Drone Footage wont be able to nor care for the minute differences in Video/Pic Quality between the two. If your showing footage to a bunch of Photogs and Film makers then choose the Phantom but if your casually showing off footage to average people and consumers than I would choose the Mavic. (I have the Mavic). If Filming and Photography is your lively hood than choose the Phantom. I chose the Mavic for the portability. With my Laptop, Camera, and Lenses, the Mavic fits right in my bag with all those and I can move around with much less restrictions.

Commenting on what you said around 4:15, I was on a mountain yesterday with my Osmo and when I was done I considered taking an aerial shot with my Mavic Pro from a distance (they don't allow flights from the mountain, itself). @tone1myth2ad7 жыл бұрын
I use an Android phone. I personally hadn't had any issue with my Mavic till then. Yesterday was the first time i flew it in about a month. I updated the firmware about a week or so ago ( that's something i start the drone up for occasionally so on a day i want to fly i am not sitting there forever) But the 5D button wasn't functioning and i am aware it doesn't work in the 4k setting but it wasn't in any of those, suddenly i was getting strong interference to my remote,it seemed like the transmission to my phone froze for what seemed like forever hahaha, but was probably on a few seconds, but when flying and your drone looks like a spec in the sky can be highly stressful.

If you travel to your fly locations by car, the P4P's much larger size (especially in a good case with remote and extra batteries etc.) won't be much of a problem. However when you go walking, cycling, hiking etc. the portability of the Mavic Pro is a huge plus. It easily becomes the difference between actually taking your drone with you or not. Also, if you travel by plane, the P4P's size is big enough that you may not always want to take it with you. The size difference between the two and thus the difference in portability cannot be stressed enough. The Mavic Pro is also quicker to set up and fly and it has a far more convenient remote controller.

Hey Billy. Love your vids. Need your insight. I use an iPad mini 4 with my newly purchased P4P. I live in Texas. Now that temperatures are in the 90's my iPad flickers and glitches displaying a green and or black screen. This only happens during the day. I've only had the P4P three weeks. I returned it for a new one but had the same problem. Again only during the day. At night once the temps drop I have no flickering. It makes flying dangerous because it's hard to see. The video on the SD card is clear. Anyone have any advice? I've used airplane mode, and reduced brightness. Still didn't help. Apple ran diagnostics tests on my iPad and iPhone 7plus and found no issues.

Great video man! I have two off-topic questions for you if you can help me out. 1. Is it safe to assume that my mavic pro will be ok if I fly it over 2000 feet away in an urban and "noisey" environment? Never flown my mavic more than 800 feet from me since I find it hard to physically see and fear that I may lose signal with it. 2. How do you deal with birds? I can never seem to fly anymore without birds flying around my mavic and in fear that one of them will collide with it. Any advice on how to deal with that fear? Would appreciate your thoughts and keep up the good work man!

Hi Billy, I had the same issues like what you had with Mavic and even worse losing transmission control at only 80m and RTH kicked in (same testing ground for my P3 Pro). After reading DJI forums we are not the only one and they suggested turnng airplane mode on you mobile phone. I tested by turnng on airplane mode on my mobile, Mavic connections improved. I think it was a design flaw to place mobile wall to wall to the radio body which caused interferences. So I bought tablet raiser and issue seemed to go away even without truning on airplane mode on my mobile. Give that a go and let us know.

Great job Billy Kyle. I do have one question, that I think I know the answer, but I have yet to say anyone talk about with practical experience when comparing Phantom 4 (any model) vs Mavic and that is "HOW DOES WIND CONDITIONS AFFECT THEM?". I don't have either drone, so I came here to gain knowledge, but I don't think I gained much at all. At 11:42, you make excuses for the clip being "a little bit biassed toward the P4P". I would have said it was hugely biassed. From there to the end of your vid, you list a litany of faults with the Mavic. Are these faults generic to the Mavic breed, or do you have a rogue unit? If the latter, then you're not really the right person to be making a comparison, because you're comparing a working unit with a broken unit, and if that doesn't cause bias, then nothing will. For a clip entitled "Mavic P vs. P4P", the comparison in videos at 5:57 - 6:56 are very poor. The first two shots are of the same subject, though the P4P gets much closer to it, and consequently shows more detail. However, there are comparable points at about 6:06 and 6:10. I was looking in 1080p, and took screenshots of both for comparison. There doesn't seem much between them in detail, but although I can't know the color of your grass, I prefer the colors in the Mavic picture. Judging by the length of the shadows, the time of day seems about the same, and the sun was shining in both (it didn't go behind a cloud). Apart from that, there are other shots from the P4P - but nothing more from the Mavic. A poor comparison in all, unworthy of your title. As a sales pitch for the P4P, it was great.

It does seem there have been some issues out there. At the scale of production, and out of china, I can understand that the failure rate may be high. But I appreciate the technology enough to name my KZbin channel after the Mavic. Would use my name for the channel but it is quite a common name I have, unlike yours.

Taz Mavic , thanks Taz. I will be making some videos of my experience as it has really hindered my videography. I'll let you know when I post them.

I'm a beginner in flying drones starting out with a UDI U818-A Drone, & I eventually another drone with GPS & other functions, but my 3rd Drone after research were the Mavic Pro & the Phantom.4 Pro Would like to thank you for your very good take on both models, although you were a bit bias for the the Phantom 4 Pro, you gave great comparisons to both. My plans after my retirement is to make money for music videos & films with the "Phantom 4 Pro" I'will keep checking out both models for improvements in the Future...Thanks Dawg!

5mph flying might be when flying towards sun, it goes into obstacle avoidance mode. I don't own one, but I read that happens....obviously something is happening such as that.

I do envy the p4p camera but I'm more than pleased with my Mavic pro. It's so friggin easy to deal with compared to lugging around my suitcase when I had a p3s. WAY, WAY WAY EASIER!! My camera is totally fine for my real estate videos and hobby photography. My next drone will be an inspire or matrice 200. I want to eventually get into mapping and industrial drone uses. I am very coordinated and extremely careful. Attributes needed for commercial drone applications.

N'th DEGREE AERIAL PERSPECTIVES so you're happy using the Mavic for real estate clients? I have been thinking of getting a Mavic, but I was worried it wouldn't be good enough for real estate!

Thanks for the info. You're quite good at narration and production quality of the entire comparison was refreshingly crisp and well organized.

Your review much helpful. Having difficulty deciding on the MAVIC or P4 Pro for my second drone. My Autel X Star is ok. But, I'm definitely wanting better quality...

Says that price and portability are most important but then says that he doesn't want to shoot with the Mavic which excels in those categories because the camera isn't as good?

Hi Billy Good video as usual. I bought the Phantom 4 pro plus. I am very happy with all facets of the quad apart from the attached screen. While the screen is bright and and able to see whats happening more easily a bigger screen would have been preferable.

Hey Billy, You made me make up my mind between the P4 and Mav. I finally bought the P4 PRO+. Just love it! Many Thanks.

You forgot to mention how the props show up on the p4p in forward flight unlike the mavic. Great vid though. Really informative.

Some filmmakers are actually pretty positive about the Mavic Pro, but it's logical that the more expensive and better specced Phantom 4 Pro has better video results since the camera is targetted for better video output. I think the first generation Mavic Pro's had their quirks (from what I heared because of high demand at DJI and lower inspection standard prior to shippings). Maybe a DJI Mavic Pro with a 1" sensor camera would be best of 2 worlds.

Sorry to hear you been having problems with your Mavic! I've had mine since January and it works great! I can understand y you wouldn't give a good review to a product that has failed you time and time again! I love my Mavic and i wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Although the Phantom 4 pro shoots in 4K at 60fps id prefer the portability of the Mavic. Now im sure handling the Phatom 4 pro at high wind speeds would be ideal here in Chicago but i love how discrete and quiet the Mavic is. I prefer flying and not having everyone stop and stare at the drone. Im sure the Phatom 4 pro draws alot of attention. At the end of the day it all comes down to what are you looking for in a drone. Great video!!!!!!
