To play devils advocate, how would you propose to maintain security for such instances such as the Ťřùümp Ass Attempt this Summer?

Why a 50 or even a 25 mile radius. Ridiculous. 10miles from airport radius is safe.
@earljanssenСағат бұрын
It is not just flights. When Joe Biden is at his beach home in Rehobeth, DE, there is a TFR for a 30 mile radius. I fall within that. It doesn't matter if he is flying or not.

That explains why KZbinr ( philly drone life) got crucified by the FAA,😮

I totally agree. I live in Jacksonville, Florida. Lots of the area that I need to fly in is military airspace. That isn't a problem, EXCEPT, that I have to get a Certificate of Authorization before I can reserve airspace, by day and by time block (and ya can't reserve 2 contiguous days, there must be at least 1 day in between). After getting the COA (tied to a specific property location), airspace reservations request should be submitted to the controlling military facility 3 "business" days in advance. The problem with this is that it is/has been taking anywhere between 2 weeks and 2 months to get a COA these days. I used to be able to get one within a business week, which is still a lot of time when dealing with real estate shoots. Now ... having said that, I say this: for the better part of this year, there have been large, wedge shaped TFRs emanating from Mayport Naval Base (on the coast) to the South West. There has rarely been a day without one of these in place, and it covers a large geographical area where many, many, many real estate properties are located ... thereby making it impossible to get drone work from listing agents or FSBO sellers. Just put Jacksonville, Florida, into aloft and check it out. I'm considering just selling my 3 drones and use the money to buy lottery tickets. Yup, I'm that flippin' frustrated. Cheers, Chuck

TFRs for drones need changed. My area was constantly impacted by Trump between 2017-2018 when I lived in NJ. This will be a problem for there again once he is sworn in and I feel for the drone pilots there. It is entirely illogical that it would be super illegal to even launch a tiny whoop in my backyard at my old location. Or fly a camera drone even 50ft. But that’s the law. I hope it changes, because unreasonable regulation is exactly part of why many do not even attempt to be legal in the first place. 🤷♂️

It really needs to change. Sorry you’re going to have to deal with it /:

@@billykyle oh, man I don’t live in New Jersey anymore. I moved to the Midwest years ago where I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single TFR. Nobody goes here. 😂 it makes me appreciate where I live to not have to deal with these things. But I support your cause all the same especially since I used to be personally impacted by it.

I'm a news photographer in Montgomery County, PA, and often times I can't cover a scene due to these same TFR's you are talking about. I might only need to fly 70 feet for a photo, and I can't. Very annoying.
@JxBx802 сағат бұрын
TFRs should be smaller radius and should disappear when they're not needed, more quickly.
@billykyleСағат бұрын
Way smaller

Dude!!!!, I get the pain, but this is one of the oldest arguments based on UAS/USV pilots thinking on being a professional. Do fix wing pilots (private owners) feel they should not be held to standards? Flying has always been a privilege, but to often UAS people feel its a God given right. Regardless of hobbyist flying/status or Commercial operator we all should be held to standards of professionalism. Most of the regulations we face are based in mistrust because of the lack of standards.

Hey Billy. I have followed all the steps but annoyingly when I drop the final hyperlapse into a 1080 timeline the quality noticeably drops. Note I set the spacial conform to None and I can't for the life of me work out why! It looks good when I drop it into a 4k timeline. Is this normal?

Evidentially you can't use goggles with either since it's not in this video. That might be somewhat important deciding which to go with, but what would I know? LOL

I didnt buy the avata2 kit because it would force me to buy the motion controller that i didnt want....I ended up buying the goggles 3 and buying a different drone from somewhere else. The cameras on the front of the goggles3 almost seems like they did it poorly on purpose to "fix" it in newer goggles forcing you to buy those if you wanted that feature...

I just got the Mini through Home Depot, and it is a great unit. FYI, if you are a veteran you can get a 10% discount there which helps with the higher-priced Mini. The Standard is on deep discount right now, but the portability and lower power options of the Mini made me opt for the extra expense. Accessories I bought were a 6 and 15-foot 100W rated USB C to USB C set of cables, a 65W external power bank (as a smaller option to carrying my Jackery power bank), a 100W PD capable car cigarette lighter adapter, and a 100W rated 5521 male to USB C female adapter (with that Starlink type of weather seal on the 5521 end). The 65W bank works fine, but probably wouldn't if the cable length were longer, and needing a 100W bank might be in order. Turning off the snow melt option on the Mini may be required. Some optional accessories I bought were a Starlink Mini Tripod Adapter (which I can use with my camera tripod), and a Starlink Mini Tripod Mount...a very small tripod to keep the Starlink Mini a few inches off the ground. I have the 50 GB Roam plan for the first month and will then suspend it. I have this for emergency backup at home, and for use while going to remote locations while traveling/camping/etc. If you suspend it, it will work until your current billing period ends (so it is not prorated). When you unsuspend it, you are charged a prorated amount until the end of your billing period. The 50 GB Roam Plan should work for my situation. If you go into the settings, you can toggle on the option to bill you $1 per GB of excess use, so if you never exceed 165 GB of use, it is cheaper than the $165/mo Unlimited Plan. Before I use it, to help with data consumption I will: 1) Have my phone/tablet/laptop updated with the latest app versions/patches. 2) Turn off automatic updates (such as in the Google Play store (phone), and Windows Update (tablet/laptop)). 3) When possible, download anything I might want to watch or listen to. 4) Make sure to change KZbin viewing quality to Standard Definition (SD).

The Air 3s is a great drone, but overall i think the image quality of the Mavic 3 Pro is still better in every way. Also not being able to adjust the aperture on the Air 3s is a big downside when filming video, you can not land the drone to change ND filters all the Time and adjusting the shutterspeed makes the footage look not as smooth as it should be (if you care about that). The main problem I have with the air3s is that, when the light changes quickly, like sunset, sunrise or also just some clouds you don't have any other ways to adjust the exposure except cranking the shutter. The only other solution I come up with is to always fly at higher ISO and stepping that down when there is too much light... But yeah... that will decrease the quality of the image again and introduce noise. But the overall improved hardware and better performance AND better price of the Air 3s makes it still an excellent drone. So yeah, I don't know lol... which one would you buy?
