One of my buddies from back home raced MX in the 80s, full-on off his rocker. Andre’s dad had a welding shop by this little river, “riverside welding” did lots of work for the municipality’s machines and for farmers etc. They had a 45gal drum that his dad would put old fuel into, no lid, rain water etc in there. Andre decided one day to check the air / fuel ratio with a match. He kept racing but gave up on fuel testing 😁

@BillyLaneChoppers thing was nuts, pre-winglets on the front cowl, so at 180mph it would be slightly pulling up the front wheel. I went actually all in, moved to Redondo Beach and rode 12hr days, 6 days a week delivering Med weed just to get paid to ride. I was so dialed on that bike it was insane. Dodging those morons dipping into the carpool lane was wild. Lost a peg and almost a foot, another time pulled a stoppie, realized I had room to spare, so I locked the rear up to slide and match their angle, knocked on the window and kept on going. Haha This town is too small for me on two wheels, sold it. I've done enough they legit make movies about guys like me, but I'm stuck with regular old life now trying to figure out the next thing to do. If you got any ideas for where I'm at in life now, I'm listening.

You talking about your friend Nick filling a fuel tank reminds me of a co-worker I had at a Honda/Kawasaki dealership years ago. One mechanic, Jerome, always had a cigarette and I went back in the shop to talk to him about something and he had his hand, with lit cigarette in it, resting on a rolling fuel caddy. He sadly had a stroke some years later. Don't smoke, kids.

Nick was a wild man. His smoking made me nervous. A lot.

Loved the show loved the back story and that you didnt put a spin on it!
@BillyLaneChoppers
@BillyLaneChoppers Ай бұрын
No need to spin it. There never was. The producers were always looking to inject some Hollywood spin. We built those bikes in a very short period of time, then rode them a very long way. The drama they sought was bound to manifest on the highway.

I never did believe that guy when he said he was the one who invented the hub-less wheel. He seemed a lot like the people we see all over the internet today, tell a lie until it becomes the truth, or at least the truth in your own mind lmao.

Such a valid observation. Most people become characters in their own play. I like KZbin because it is very difficult to fake it here. Notice how there are not many custom bike builders here? It's too easy to fake it on Instagram.
