I got to meet Indian larry once he really was that kind of guy... We were in NYC and had broken down I didnt know his shop was only like a mile away.. anyways he was riding by stopped offering help took us to his shop and fixed my bike free of charge and then rode with us out of town to the bridge.. I have pictures of it.. Truly an amazing guy loved what he did. I cried when I heard he died.. 1 in a million.

I’m it sure shop owners are all that crazy about taking part in those shows anymore after seein the effect it had on other shops. Almost every shop looses their best help from spinoffs or tensions created by the show. The other major problem is that young people aren’t into this. I watched discovery, TNN (before it became spike) and I couldn’t get my hands on enough hot rod, super Chevy, muscle mustangs, car craft. It’s unfortunate but no one works with their hands and makes stuff anymore. It’s all about texting on your phone, playing video games and all the other stuff kids do these days instead of what we used to do.

@@vtwinbuilder3129 these buildoffs hurt shops financially as well without hugh king getting parts donated the little guys couldnt do it. Baker tranny 3k, s&s motor 10k, frame and paint 10k easy, labour 10-20k easy without a backer its not doable except for the big boys and now there arent that many of them out there.

Billy and Larry had nothing but respect for one another. 2 builders with 2 different styles yet they saw the good in their creations. They didn't mock or knock each other down. Comeraderie at its best!

I like Larry’s philosophy to building bikes, he wanted to build a custom chopper that you could be your every day ride.

Indian Larry's is better looking and more rideable in my opinion. Who'd really want a bike that takes a work out to start and rips flesh off of your leg??

I helped my dad with a sales booth at a bike show in Texas. Neither of us are bikers and don't really fit into that world. Indian Larry stopped by our booth on the first day and struck up a conversation with me and my father who is a retired USAF colonel. He was really nice guy and seemed to really enjoy conversations with my father over that weekend. We were both really sad to hear how he passed away. We saw him do that same stunt. He was a one of a kind and a great free spirit American.
