This hit me hard....real hard. I told my wife yesterday that I am happy making way less money than I do now, if I can spend time with her and training for my first marathon. We didn't want kids, we wanted to enjoy the little time we have together and go on adventure's. I am now in the proces of making it happen. Thank you for making these videos!!!!

This really hit me spot on. I've had to many years where I chose to close my self from the world and memories (PTSD). Recent years I've been comming back and startet running again. I'm a single dad, and my son needed my prescence more. That was a succes on top of a traumatic periode and I chose to continue. Now he and I need to travel to more of the ultras.

Hey brother thank you for this video, this reminds me exactly of me!:)..and it's always refreshing seeing other people who live the same way, I'm 43 I live in a small modest place but I made it my own, I live very simple I don't need alot but the area I'm in is absolutely beautiful, in the winter time I love to run in the reservations near me and go for hikes and walks and never want to be inside ,and when summer comes around I'm close enough to drive to the shore or I could be at the beach and also go for a nice long walks and rides and runs down there, I'm not "rich" im comfortable but the way I live &the way I feel I can do anything I want anytime I want and I definitely feel I'm rich so thanks a lot brother!;)

This resonated with me so much. I've also chosen to live a life off the beaten path. I'm not interested in having children or being tied down. I crave adventure and a life that's different than the norm. I tried for a few years to ignore this, but ultimately I find my way back. Now I'm training for my biggest adventure yet, to hike the great divide trial in Canada, and I can't wait for the sense of freedom I'll have being on the trail, away from humanity and normal life, for several months.

I am a 34 yr old software tester with a wife and one kid. My wife and I both work a lot and earn a lot. She works part time, for free, on social media for a company our friend owns. I work out 7 days a week, at least 2 hours a day (running or boxing). Both of us wish we could quit our day jobs and monetize our side passions but haven't figured out how yet. I often joke how we are both going to have a midlife crises at the same time and just quit work. I'm honestly not sure what we will do or how we will manage our sanity with the 9-5, we just have each other for support. I follow you on KZbin because your videos are great and it's fun to imagine another life where I travel the ultra running circuit. Last year I attempted but did not finish two 100 milers, signed up for them again in 2020 and really hoping this year I can finish and do more marathons and Ultras and maybe that will be enough to keep me sane at work

Even had exemption from sports classes in school because of a heart condition. But decided to try running last february and ran over 900 kilometers in 2019 including two half marathons and a few more in training. The weirdest thing is that two years ago I would have said that I can't run long distances because I had heart problems while I was in school. Back then I couldn't run even 400 meters comfortably. So it's all about a decision, dedication and discipilne.
