Ahh, that's nothing. My 98 has 172,000 miles and stock shocks because I'm broke. It's awful buy you make do with what you can and I can't wait to get a set of these shocks this summer. Good video as well.

Oh yeah you'll be amazed how your car will feel also a couple great subtleties are the Hotchkiss sway bars which are adjustable those will make a huge difference in your handling and the other one I recommend is the Toyota praxis sport tires they are very inexpensive super super super soft and they make zero road noise.

KW Coils are the best solution FOR RACE OR HIGH SPEEDS, in germany a set is 1700$ on ebay. de. 👍

I've done my research with the Corvettes and the coilovers are more hassle than they're worth on the street. About four out of five people I can never get the alignment dialed in once they take off the transverse leaf springs. So I decided to just go with the bilsteins😊 I love the shock and I also got thicker sway bars which make it really handle well

@@Syntheticoilprotection billsteins are ok, its cheapest upgrade, but for racing need coilovers,, check out corvette z06 nurburgring nordschleife👍You Yanks no shit about Racing😁That oval indy aint real Racing. 😉

Do you remember if theses shocks were the B6 or B8? Thanks Eben.

Great question Those are the heavy duties. Amazing shocks unbelievable how settled down the car became. Road holding on the street was increased by about 27% after those shocks. With my car in the tires that were on it I could run away from a c706 in the street in my opinion

I’m assuming those are the Bilstein B6s? You didn’t say.

Anytime! I've put about 10,000 miles in the shocks now and they still are amazing. When you go and it do high speed humps or dips the car stays Rock Solid it keeps the tires in the ground. I would say an 80% difference of control compared to the OEM stocks. I would say the car got 15% firmer

The plugs you're talking about are meant for models starting in 2005 (C6), which I was told would work on models from 2005 to 2013. For the C5, well, from '97 to '04, there is no such thing. The technician needs to go through the computer located in the trunk, and delete code "F55" which is the suspention code. Then unplug the battery, wait for about 2 minutes, hook up the battery again and then wait for the computer to perform some sort of a reboot and the "F55" code is supposed to disappear and from there, you can have regular shocks installed. If you don't get that code deleted properly, and install shocks other than OEM, your car will be stuck at 80 mph no matter what you do, or how hard you press on the gas pedal. On my '04 convertible, the guys at my dealership tried to delete that code four times, yes, you've read that right, 4 freakin' times!!! I was told that, apparently because of the "birth date" of my car, it was considered as a mid-year and so, the code became like a "ghost code" which means when you think you got rid of it, it comes back to haunt you!! So, the guys at my chevy dealership were so nice and, maybe a bit ashamed about the whole situation, they were upfront with me and offered we'd go 50-50 on the whole install. I must admit I was in awe, considering I thought I'd have to spit out just about a little over $3,500 for the whole thing, shocks, installation and all. Considering those OEM shocks cost about $750 a pop, I considered it a pretty good deal. All in all, now my vette runs like a champ!!!
