Hi Rick, came across this video while searching about Atom-mac. First thing first, car looks awesome👍 I have used Atom- mac before but never realised it had do many uses, tools, bikes etc, so will defo be using this more. As for Bilt Hamber stuff , all products are top Quality, found out about Bilt Hamber back in 2010 when I got into detailing, so I have Dynax UC for the wjnter rims/tyres, awesome stuff, Surfex HD is the best cleaner by miles, hydrate 80, Korrosol, Auto wheels, auto foam, Finis wax are all superb. So anyone doubting any of the stuff, give it a go. Cheers Rick👍

My GTV lives outside and I wont drive it when salt is on the roads. So this should be perfect to keep my brake discs from overly rusting over winter. I have used other Bilt Hamber products and never been disappointed.

I'm a new convert to Bilt Hamber. Brilliant products and amazing value. I've used Hydrate 80 to treat the rear beam of our Panda 100hp, Deox to de-rust some rod ends and nuts and bolts and Auto Wheels. I have some Dynax S-50 ready to do the cavities and some Atom Mac to treat that car and also our Up Gti.

Hi Martin. Yes they are fantastic value for money whilst at the same time very high quality products. I haven’t tried the Deox yet but maybe that will be a video for the near future. If you haven’t tried the Surfex HD yet then I highly recommended it 👍🏼

@@_RicksGarage Hi Rick. I highly recommend the Deox it's magical stuff and the dilution rates mean it will last for ages. Not yet tried the Surfex as I have a fair bit of Autobrite Citrus Wash to get through first but I will do.

@@martinmees878 I use Hydrate 80, Deox C and Atom Mac. I like to use Atom Mac on the discs after washing the car. All BH products are amongst the best out there and are amazing value for money. I haven't tried Surfex HD....yet...

@@martinmees878 ... hi, give the Surfex HD a go, you won’t be disappointed... I have many of Autobrite products as well, however this stuff is in a league of its own, as there is such a massive range of dilution rates to suit every scenario 👍

You should try their Hydrate 80, and Dynax-S50. The Hydrate 80 is insane protection for any corrosion prone surface. It even works on areas that already have some surface rust, it will neutralize the rust, while forming a permanent protection barrier (obviously you want to clean as much rust off as possible first with anything like a steel brush, etc.). With Hydrate 80, you basically need to either use a paint sprayer, or a brush/roll to paint it on the surface (I think they recommend 2 layers). It will then cure and harden to a clear protective barrier.

I suppose you could leave a piece of metal outside and use it as an indicator as to when you might need to give a vehicle a refresh

Did you know that you can apply it to the bodywork via a snow foam bottle. So the atom Mac can get to welded joints and places to can’t see. 👍🏻

Just bought a bottle of ACF 50 to apply to our motorbikes, but might get this instead 🤔 Looks easier to apply , more cost effective etc

Great product test especially the mild steel plate. BTW the flys/midges look rather like Silver Birch tree seeds. Obviously no detraction from the test but just thought you might want to know it's not some sort of insect attractant! 😀😀

Great to see you gone with the BH recommendation... use any of their products and you won’t be disappointed 😎👍 Usually are at a great price point and actually do what they say on the tin ... no frills, fancy packaging etc ... just good gear 👍 used their Deox C recently to refurb my VW Corrado brake callipers.... amazing results. Also their Hydrate 80 is excellent value when compared to high street versions such as Hamertite rust convertor .... The Alpha looks amazing 👍👍

Interesting stuff so does this basically replace the need for products such as Waxoyl which like you say looks horrid
@_RicksGarage3 жыл бұрын
Potentially yes but for a daily driven car you’d have to keep applying it often. Probably on weekly basis especially through winter. For a garaged weekend toy such as my Alfa then this is absolutely an adequate substitute for Waxoyl in my opinion. It’s great to have a product that I can use to protect my hard work without having to paint stuff over it or use any kind of sticky, messy substance

@@_RicksGarage thanks for the reply. I’ve got a pristine 98 156 with 25k miles on the clock. Never had any rust protection used on it anywhere and is not in daily use and garaged so this could be Just the solution I’m looking for to assist with preserving its excellent condition.

@@tjshill82 that’s it. It offers protection without having to cover anything up. Atom-Mac allows you to retain the cars originality. I really wouldn’t hesitate.

@@_RicksGarage Half quart of mineral oil, mixed with 2 wax toilet gaskets will cost less than $10 USD and will last a long long time with no redos for yrs. If u add the redneck groil, grease, trans fluid and oil along with wax, then that's a combo that's about untouchable. But whatever we use, at least we're fighting rust however we can. Good vid.

Just a few spots in the last 4 weeks. Not bad going at all considering this was completely bare steel left out in the elements. I will post a photo ASAP on my community page

Hi. Seems like good stuff. How have you found this on brake discs which, let’s face it, often collect a lot of surface rust when it’s wet outside. I’ve read some people say their discs turned a brownish colour after using this, particularly when the solution was mixed too strongly! Also. Have you looked at Languard made by a UK company, designed for marine vessels, but works very well on cars👍
@_RicksGarage3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks for the comment. Yes, I looked into Lanoguard. It seems like really good stuff but it’s also very expensive. Some may say overpriced. I’ve heard that Lanoguard leaves a transparent but waxy finish and isn’t designed to be applied again and again. It’s more of a long term product which I understand is a good thing for some people. Personally for me I wanted something that I could keep applying again and again and something that doesn’t detract from the finish I have on the underside of my car. I also wanted a product that I could use on my motorcycle and more importantly my bicycle which I use year round for commuting through all four seasons and all weather. The Atom Mac just fits the bill for me. With regards to using it on break discs, I haven’t experienced any browning yet. It will be ideal for spraying on the discs while my car in being stored over winter though 👍🏼
@ianboundy88042 жыл бұрын
I've used both products on my gtv. Atom mac in voids,Dynax in sills and Lanoguard on underside and wheel arches. It dries clear, a waxy finish that can be jetwashed but not removed. Shall be doing the old girl again( for want of a better phrase) when she comes out of storage, all nice and dry.

Looking good. Might give that a shot. Bushes still not squeaky, by the way. 🖖,thanks for the other video. With regards to the water, look up spotless water, it's ro/di water and very cheap. Works a treat for washing the car (and topping up marine tanks!!).
