Ah glad you’d covered this talk tale. My dad used to take me on a bimble there on his bike crossbar seat. In fact he took me all over the nw on that bike seat and it always included a stop off at a pub!!!

The thatched roofed house still stands where he lived, think you cycled past it. Legend has it that John had to sleep in the loft space & his feet sometimes stuck out the end of the house 😅

I'll order an ep if you do one - Agree with Mark catchy and very listenable. The Childe of Hale was my dad's fav pub. Really enjoying the social/ environmental history particularly from the perspective of someone 12000 miles away who lived in the North West 40 years ago.
