I used to do this crossing with my dad when I was a kid then as an adult until I sold my last boat. It’s been over ten years but I’ve got a 26ft almost ready for the water I can’t wait to get back out there.

On the way back last year, we had a trailing sea 4-5ft, eventhough we were on a 28ft we barely hit 20mph because the waves were so far that I would stuff the bow going any faster, so I was on the throttle the whole ride, took me 3.5 hours.

Yea when they are rolling that big you can't just plow thru them because you end up falling on the front end of the wave and dunk the bow where you can not even slow down cause the rest of the wave is coming up behind you! I try not to get caught in that but it does happen 3.5 is a decent time for those conditions

Very good video a lot of information on the crossing and great picture quality . I felt if I was on the boat and I was wondering how much fuel did you use to cross to Bimini ?I think you 1.5 a few times and I thought I was ask anyway,thank you and great video.

I was burning at around 1.5 mpg but I usually waste in a weekend to Bimini half a tank which comes out to be about 100 gallons of fuel give or take depending on sea condition's

I had a betta fish named Bimini, he died. Got gill disease so gave him fish antibiotics...made him go blind 😅.
