He really is. Super helpful and down-to-earth. And that's a good idea, the best mod is maintenance! I'd love to know when you get around to installing this setup, though.

Sound Amazing! 👌 Do You Know If Bimmer Haus Ships That Intake To CA? Unfortunately Its Hard To Get Cold Air Intakes Shipped Here Due To Not Being CARB Legal lol

It's even better in person. And yes, he does! I understand, CA has some pretty... strict... regulations, but he does, in fact, ship to California!

What happens if it rains heavily / other cars throw large amounts of water on the road / carwash? Any problems or potential issues?
@R1d3rBulАй бұрын
Lol. Really a car wash 🧼 will be interesting as well😆
@MotoRevsАй бұрын
No amount of rain that can enter through the filter would be enough to damage the engine or anything - unless, of course, you purposely try pressure washing straight at it for minutes on end. But, in rain, heavy or light, Dan from BimmerHaus says there should be no problem at all. If you are concerned, you can always use the included filter sock for peace of mind.

awesome! video long anticipated lol, btw are there more videos on the installation of this cold air intake?
@MotoRevs7 ай бұрын
Honestly, not really. The only two other videos are by Grant Johnson and BimmerHaus Performance themselves. There's such a scarcity of videos for these intakes!
@1kontrabida6 ай бұрын
Smart idea wrapping the charge pipe and good job on the install, if i may suggest I'd keep the intake socks on because u dont want water or moisture being sucked in which is very likely to happen. And the blue plastic behind the intake I would take it off so u can maximize air flow and not being blocked in the back which also keep ur radiator happy behind it. If u haven't id relocate ur temp sensor near the front end so it can match the ambient temp ur intake gets (that is if the sensor sits in the back or u haven't done it.
@MotoRevs6 ай бұрын
Thank you, I thought it wouldn't hurt to get it heat wrapped. About the sock, though, I mentioned why I left it off in the video. It's not going to hurt the turbo or engine if water gets in - Dan from BimmerHaus Performance said most of his clients don't run the sock. Besides, like I said in the video, lots of people run meth injection; which is literally dumping icy-cold liquid into the turbo/engine. The filter guard, as well, I mentioned why I'd keep on in the video. It helps direct the air to the intake, as the radiator behind it is huge, and it really isn't stealing the air from it. All sensors have been relocated, too, like I said and showed in the video. I appreciate the comment!

@@MotoRevs just my 2 cents Just people wont be misled and also for you not get confused. watching ur video and commented on rain water and methanol , Rain water will for most part rust out (steel) metal components on ur turbo or where anywhere rain water falls on. it comes in contact with, can affect ur air and fuel mixture, with enough amount of rain water sucked in it is possible that u can hydrolock ur engine Methanol is highly combustible liquid due to its high octane rating thats why people use it it bumps up their octane and cools down the engine. Cheers

@@1kontrabida well said man, My concerns were also the same. Worried if it rain catches you. That would make the things very bad.
@1kontrabidaАй бұрын
@@R1d3rBul Just sharing some info so u wont have to run it back and make the same errors or mistakes. Been modding BMW's, and other European cars for quite sometime and on thing ive learned is addressing the possibility and prevention for each mod because theres always gonna be a compromise because the mod was not designed nor tested by the manufacturer to begin with. check ur stock airbox and ull see a hole on the bottom end for water to drain out incase water goes in and wont flood ur intake and reach the air filter is a clear sign that water or anything liquid shouldnt be present near ur filters.

I have a question what happen if it start rain really bad i feel like the car is going to suck all that water?
@MotoRevs2 ай бұрын
Well, it's unlikely. It's a pretty good filter, and, even if it did get some water in it, it's nowhere near as much water as you'd need to damage or hydrolock an engine. If you are worried about it, though, BimmerHaus includes a rain sock with your purchase to put over the filter to prevent even more dust and water from entering.

Any pre/after dyno results? +20hp sounds quite high....
@MotoRevs6 ай бұрын
Yes, there are dyno results and proof, as I said in the video. Go over to BimmerHaus Performance's Instagram - he's got the dyno charts and stats there, it's seriously impressive.

@@MotoRevs sorry missed that. So that is from your car or just bulk result from them?
@MotoRevs6 ай бұрын
That was from another F10 KZbinr's car - Grant Johnson. They put his car on before and after, with and without the intake, and no tune either run. He's also seen the same results on N55s across different chassis and platforms. It's not a fluke!

How my miles does your 535 have mine has 136k and I’m wondering if thats too much to tune maintenance has been done already
@MotoRevs4 ай бұрын
My 535i currently has around 85,000 miles; I'm not sure, I don't believe I'm qualified to tell you that. As I've seen, a lot of N55s can take tuning up to 150k miles, but, like I said, I can't say for sure if you should or shouldn't.
