Revit, as a modeling tool for custom 3D objects (couch, chair, other entourage), is in a stone age. While it is possible to model intricate 3D objects in a free software, even web-based ones, like OnShape, Revit didn't change it's approach since V.1: extrusion, blend, revolve, sweep, sweep blend... that's all Revit got? - sad, borderline pathetic. Am I missing something?

onshape is in no way an architectural design tool. It's a equivalent is inventor, or fusion 3d or solidworks. it's an entirely different functionality. modeling within revit does suck, but architectural design only needs symbolic representations of model data. if you start to build things too intricately, and layout a massive floorplan, you'll learn why you don't want screw level modeling details. This is why LOD exists, and anyone that does BIM for a while know the pitfalls of wanting to model too much.

I'm professionally modeling in Revit for 10+ years. It's true that it's an architectural tool. Is also true that Revit needs to add a few more tools to modeling methods. Let me decide what I can do with it. As of now I'm using Onshape to model nice looking buildings, and Gravity Sketch to model couches and stylized people. Revit should be ashamed.
