Great fricken video. The only one that made sense for me. Just a question... i might have missed it in the video. Is your margin account the only account that can lose money (if you get liquidated in margin trading)? Would any debts affect your spot account? If you can do a video on stop loss in margin or future trading, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

good video, thank you. a small error was that assumption about the need to make 1% at least to call that margin trade profitable for x5. you were comparing the % of fees buy/sell based on your intitial margin with the % of profit based on 'only' margin, while the real profit is %(margin+borrowed funds).. 5:36

i have a question about the break-even point around 5:52 timestamp. would it not still be 0.1% of the total amount($500)? you said that we would have to make a profit of at least 1% to break even but i think you were referring to 1% of the original $100 which does not make sense since you are trading with $500

Great video, but I think the way you explained, it would be confusing for beginners to understand how leverage increases trade fees. Because it technically doesn't increase trade fees, you don't have to make 1% profit to break even; if I'm trading a coin with 5x it goes 0.5% up, I'm still in 0.3% profit. $100 as collateral, 5x = total $500 position 0.5% profit = $2.5 0.2% trade fees on $500 = $1 I'm still in $1.5 profit. Account balance would be $101.5, sure I'll be paying more fees, but the break-even factor doesn't change with margin as mentioned in the video.

This is the best video I've come across so far! Thanks so much! What happens if you trade selecting 'borrow' without doing the whole process manually? Will the amount borrowed be different? And if I sell my order and I want to repay the borrowed amount without doing it manually, can I just select 'repay' button when selling?
@karthik9474 жыл бұрын
When you select borrow while buying, the excess amount required will be borrowed. E.g. you have 20$ in your account and your order size is 50$ then 30$ will be borrowed. It plays out similarly for selling and repay.

I just spoke to Binance, they told me even if i use Margin with 5X, the Maker/Taker fees I pay is only 0.075% with BNB coins and it not 0.5% as claimed in this video? Can you please clarify why have you mentioned in the video we pay 0.5% Maker/Taker fees with 5x Margin???
@karthik9474 жыл бұрын
It is 0.075% of the total amount. In the example I gave, I was referring to 100$ of actual funds when 5x leveraged becomes 500$ of tradable amount. So if you happen to put it all in a trade, your fees would be 0.075% of 500$, which is 5 times of 0.075% of 100$.
@VijethKumar4 жыл бұрын
@@karthik947 0.075% of $500 is $0.375. How is it 0.5% Maker/Taker fees as claimed by you in the video which makes it to 1%, which is what you speak in the video saying, if you 5x Margin, you get 1% fees in total, as you will be Buying and selling (0.5% fees each). This doesn't make sense at all.. This is a wrong information you have included in the video. Its not 0.5% as claimed by you. It is just 0.1% Maker/Taker fees as same as Exchange, if you pay fees in BNB coins, you get 0.075% Maker/Taker fees even for 5x Margin, 3x Margin or 1x Spot Order. There is not increase in the Fees as claimed by you as 0.5% for 5x Margin. You can calculated it totally wrong. I just showed your video to Binance Support, and they also confirmed me the same. The Video showing 0.5% for 5x Margin trade fees is wrong, it should be normal 0.1% fees on $500 and not 0.5% fees on $500. If you use BNB coins. then its 0.075% fee on $500 or $100...
@coinbuddy51334 жыл бұрын
Yes he did his maths wrong.. it will be 0.5% for 100$ and not 500$, and also in order to break even just 0.2% will be enough as usual.. this man just got confused in his basic maths while calculating all this.
