Oh man, even to this day I'm still impressed by the animations when you shoot at the enemy. The parts flying and the enemies limping as you shoot them have this odd satisfaction that can't be replicated by any other games.

It's one of the few games I play on the highest difficulty exactly for this reason, since the more hp the enemies have, the more bits you get to gradually shred them off them as opposed to one shotting them in a big explosion. Bullet sponge enemies are a lot less obnoxious when you can see the impact every bullet makes.

Their relentless attempt to pursue you even when you blow both their legs created this horror element that sadly never used in newer games

Topped off the a.i on those robots were cool. Like blowing their head off they become good distractions for enemies in fighting. Or blowing their legs off they'll go full terminator on you to grab you and suicide bomb. The plot had me interested, I honestly hoped if they ever continue this game.

One of the most underrated Cyberpunk game out there. Tbh, it's also one of the best TPS by Japanese Game Devs. Even for today's standard, there are no robotic enemies as feracious & "breakable" as the robots in this game. Definitely should play the game on the hardest difficulty for the real "Rust Crews" experiences. The transhumanism concept for Hollow Child & Hybrid also rather interesting.

One thing I remember from BD is how it flashbacks to Dan's childhood where he's smashing the family robot because it didn't stop his abusive dad. And then when he finds out about Faye's origins it goes back to the flashback, but he sees the robot as Faye... and continues to hit it with a bat. It's logic you'd expect in a game like Detroit Become Human, but it's a lot more interesting here because it causes Dan to start reevaluating his beliefs.

One of my favorite 3rd person shooters. Pretty much any game with a dismemberment system is amazing and this one takes full advantage of it, all the enemies are so fun to fight. It's amazing that they went from dead souls to this, the shooting in this game is so good.

My favorite story for the voice command thing is apparently if you speak in the most borderline racist "Engrish" for those phrases it recognizes them much better. Likely because they DID playtest it... with primarily Japanese speaking testers. Not sure if it's true, but God it'd be hilarious if it is

It's not a spin-off, it has nothing to do with Yakuza. It's just made by the same studio. It's not weird, it's fairly ordinary for a Third Person Shooter of the era. The weirdest thing about it is that it's actually good.

About the helicopter boss fight, you can legit fight it with the assault rifle or use a turret on the arena to absolutely tear it to pieces, destroying it on a secondary way by simply exploding its core instead of the propellers, it makes the whole fight a joke as you can destroy the missiles with the turret too

As for the trust mechanic, the game considers fully filling out each persons trust an achievement. However, to get the best ending, you just need to get everyone to 4 full blocks. You may have noticed during some menus that characters have both the full meter, and the small blocks that represent how much of the meter is reached.

Completely unnecessary aside: A state machine is basically a flow chart, where each point of the flow chart (the states) go to the next state based on inputs of events happening. A hierarchical version groups a bunch of states with commonalities to make the state charts not grow completely insane in terms of complexity. It's just fancy tech speak for "these AI have a really good flow chart for behavior".
