Oh, I've watched (listened to) this video five times in a row. It's the first time I've seen a drinking video -- most are eating, chewing (gum) or just plain mouth sounds.

I think I have some bits of misophonia because there are some sounds that trigger me in a bad way. Like I get a fight or flight response and I get really anxious and angry and it's like it's just... idk just incredibly disgusting-sounding to me? And my body is reacting like there is a really big danger (when there isn't). And one of these sounds is slurping. And it sucks because when I'm having dinner with my parents and we're eating soup or whatever or my step dad drinks his tea in the morning, there's ALWAYS slurping. And I'm trying to be calm and I succeed some of the times... But it's hard when my heart starts racing and I can't concentrate and hear the slurping so clearly. (As if I'm paying extra attention to it and expecting it every second.) But yeah, I've decided to try a sort of DIY version of this technique I've heard about, which is bacially exposing yourself to the trigger in a safe environment and gradually getting used to it and reprogramming yourself so that you no longer percieve that thing as a threat. So I'm thinking of trying to listen to recordings like these when there aren't people around so that I don't worry about annoying them by being annoyed myself... and yeah. 2 minutes into this video and I've been triggered a few times already and I've had to kick my bed and yell (not too loud, but like an intense cringe reaction of sorts? idk) to feel some kind of relief. Right now it feels like I'm just needlessly torturing myself, but I hope that if I do this as a routine then gradually I will stop having these reactions and when I'm in regular situations at home these sounds won't bother me so much. So yeah... although I really HATE some of the sounds in this recoding, I want to thank you for uploading this, cause with it you have provided me with something I could use to hopefully fix something that bothers me. So yeah, thanks.
