@@Aetherian1 In 2016, the whole championship was about Nico vs Lewis given the silver-colored Mercedes cars were so much faster than anyone else, and in the end, Nico won the title.. the "War" was between NIco and Lewis, the "Silver" was due to the Mercedes car are known as the "Silver Arrows"

Well I think the proper pronunciation is HOSS, however the team name is how Gene Haas pronounces it, since it is his last name, so it's HAAAAS. I think it's similar to Ricciardo's name. I believe his proper pronunciation is Rickey-ardo, but his dad pronounced it Rick-ardo, so that's how they pronounce it for him. Glad to see another F1 video! This season looks to be an exciting one!

In NASCAR they all say his Stewart-"Haus." I was watching sky sports and they said Haas like "Class." Never heard it that way before. The NASCAR commentators (and us fans for that matter) are southerners, and so "Haus" is what we are used to. BTW you should totally do either a preview for every race or a review of every race, or both lol. Best F1 season preview I've heard. Bravo.

I subscribed to you after watching this video. It's very cool to find an ASMR channel that is talking about the things that I care about. Anyway, in response to your section about how much noise the cars make: I fall into the group of people who care about how the engines sound. For us, it's not really about how high of a decibel level the engines can put out, it's much more about the engine "note" or tone. Back in the V12 and V10 engine days, the engines had to rev higher to make the same power that today's turbocharged engines do. This high-revving nature made glorious noises -- we aren't used to hearing a 19,000 rpm engine every day. Also, V12 and V10 engines almost always have a very distinct sonorous quality to them (think Lexus LFA and Ferrari La Ferrari). The sonorous nature of these engine layouts combined with the super high-revving nature of them made them the pinnacle of F1 sound. The high-revving V8s that came after were still good, but they lacked the beautiful tone of the previous V10 and V12. When the Turbo V6 came to F1, it's not the loudness we feel we were robbed of, it's the beautiful tone and high-revs that we miss. Anyway, thank you for this video and I will be watching all your future content!! -Teddy

Its nice to hear you went to race in Montreal and experienced the athmosphere of an f1 race. It is very diffrent then watching it on tv. I went to Monza last year and the crowd was just amazing also to hang out with tiffosi is something you need to experience as an f1 fan. My seat was next to some finnish fans and they where amazing as well we drank a lot of beer together during the weekend and cheered for kimi and botas (im mainly Alonso but you know how good mclaren was last year :/). And the podium ceremony I stood so close I could taste the champagne and walked under the big Ferrari flag. Probably the best weekend in life.

I'm a motorcyclist, and enjoy road racing. The Grand Prix of motorcycles is the Isle of Mann TTT. These riders race flat out on city streets and country roads, similar to Formula 1 racing. It is nice to hear someone talk about something they are passionate about.

Oh, and the waist gate is for the turbo. When the engine is running at full throttle and the turbo is pushing alot of pressurized air into the engine. You don't want to much or the engine won't be able to handle it so the way you limit the amount of pressure the turbo creates in the intake, is limit how much power there is to spin the compressor wheel in the turbo. The turbo uses exhaust gasses to spin a turbine wheel (think like the blades in a jet engine) and the wastegate is between the engine and that turbine. Once the turbo is making enough pressure the wastegate opens up and let's exhaust gasses bypass the turbo and go out the exhaust. It's not a super complicated piece (a simplified version is just a spring holding a vavle closed), but I'm afraid I may have just made people more confussed.

F1 news delivered via ASMR... I could listen to this allllllll day :) My one single regret of cutting cable is that I couldn't watch (or PVR because I'm not getting up that early on a weekend) F1 anymore. Favorite races are Monaco, Montreal (of course because I'm Canadian), Spa, Monza, and the old Hockenheim before the redesign in the early 2000's. Man, I miss watching F1 :(
