Some personal advice, KU 100 is a very good microphone on doing ASMR, the sound quality of the result will be very good, so hope you do some of it

I just seen this thing recently being listed for around 10,000 dollars and i'm sorry. I'm just not sold on it. People who don't know what panning is are getting ripped off lol. Like you could get the same effect with 2 microphones or even one with omnipresence for 8,000 dollars cheaper. I hate to knock it but for the price it's over doing it.

it's really not the same effect as 2 mics or omni, and certainly you can't come even close to the ambience the ku100 picks ups with just panning. Neuman has a video that explains how this mic does something different than what you described.

The only problem here is the odd feeling that it's backwards because the head is facing towards us, thus the recording is from behind the subject. He should have turned the head around facing him so that the dummy head, like us the viewing audience, is facing him straight on. Please redo this video properly. 🙂

Only if you put the omnis inside silicone ears. The reflections off the pinae are very important to the binaural effect. as are the dimensions of the head itself.

@@philcibley1804 The head isnt that important in my opinion but it does help a little more.. even without a head you can still get up and down perceptions as long as there are ears, its the ears that give us external perceptions, else it may as well be a stereo mic
