It's great how you had her give up the muskrat and then give it back. I had a wolf hybrid and when she killed something I taught her to bring it to me and after inspection, I would give it back.

The “Mink Man” reminds me of my father so much. My dad trapped muskrats for homeowners that lived on lakes. He had been a trapper for as long long as I can remember, and some of my fondest memories with him was “running” the traps. Early in trapping season we would go early in the morning before he had to be at school as he was a science teacher, and after school. He often had muskrats in the same traps. He would skin the musk rat, and then turn the hide inside out and scrape the fat off. One day he had 29 musk rats that he needed to skin and stretch so that they didn’t start to spoil (rot). Took him literally all night as he was a perfectionist. And he loved teaching his 7th and 8th grade students about wildlife. After his death, when people saw my last name on Facebook, adults who were previous his students would write about how he had affected their lives, and almost always mentions his muskrat skinning in class. Keep on doing what you are doing and taking an interest and time teaching your viewers how a “true outdoorsman” lives and respects the animals he comes into contact with.

Joe, great hunt, especially the part where you followed Bindi into the culvert - wherever my dog goes, I’m going too! Hunting muskrats with a dog is in many ways easier than using a mink because the dog moves much faster, has more stamina and has more powerful jaws. Bindi is so beautiful - muscular and motivated.

When entering storm drains or any other confined space, its a good idea to have check the place with an H2S Monitor or gas meter. Something to consider when entering confined spaces.
