Thank you for the binding tutorial. I love that you adjust the binding seams on the fly instead of that crazy fussy method of measuring, measuring, measuring to make sure the seams don’t fall in the corners. I just lose patience with that. I love your spool block. Now if I can just decide on my fabrics!! Leaning toward the Birdsong prints.

Thank you for explaining the reason for bias binding! I only ever do bias if I want a bias striped binding…now I know why it is important. Great info!

I have always done double binding by machine. However, HV had a binding tool to do binding by machine to do a single binding by machine and now has one to do a double binding by machine. I now have the double binding tool for my HV and can't wait to finish a quilt to learn how to use it!!!

❤ thanks for that tutorial on the binding. Maybe if I try your way of doing it I will be successful. Usually when I give it a try it looks messy and I end up up taking it out and do it the traditional way. Thanks for sharing.

Thank tutorial. I have e tried doing it with double fold and it never has turned out nicely. I'm going the single fold and see if I can do it better. I am loving the barn stars!! Can't wait for the book to come out in April. Happy sewing.

@Pat Sloan and @Patty Andrews I need to clarify about Patty's question in the live chat. She asked about using a layer cake on the Wed block. I was thinking of the upcoming March Block a Day, ( but I said block of month) I gave some numbers for the layer cakes needed for the Block a Day, along with some extra yardage. I’m still new at this and got confused with the particular block being discussed( on the video that block a day had just been shown). My apologies. I hope you see this😊

I’ve never tried attaching the binding from the back to the front by machine, but I have to say I’m liking your method. Thank you so much for this demo, and loving the Barn Star blocks and will be on the lookout for the book. 👍❤️😊

Every binding tutorial I've ever watched uses angled seams throughout the binding. Of course this means that that last seam when joining the two ends is always challenging. I loved the straight seams you used to join the binding strips. I'm curious though if there is any disadvantage to doing the straight seams? Sure seems a lot easier.

Hi Pat! After printing off the March Block-a-Day pattern, I found yardage of a kinda mottled light blue in my stash to use as the background. Then got out my container of 2 1/2" squares! I decided to do the "circle" pattern 4 blocks will create as a single color. One is red, yellow, pink, etc. I will be doing 12 blocks like that to make mine longer. I was so excited to get at least that part done 😊😊

With Quilt of Valor and most guild quilt show, they want the double binding. Which is a pain. I like the idea of a single binding, but never do them. Sigh!
