I have to agree!!! We've been using 3 ring binders and paying for hard copies from Rebecca for the past 2 1/2 yrs. But I finally bit the bullet and bought an eco tank printer. Now I'm looking for the best binding options. Ashlea, do you like the pro click? Or do you use a different machine now?

I print 7 books a month, and am using the pro click ;) I also print at home. I laminate a laminating pouch empty, for the front and back...then if they are still in good shape, I take them out and reuse them.

Lynn Mooney the ProClick does great with laminated paper. You just have to trim the edges to get it to fit.

I've really enjoyed my pro-click! The spines are easily cut to make smaller books. I often print books using the "booklet" format so they come out half the size of a regular sheet of paper and then cut the spine to fit. I've made blank journals that way and sold them too using a nice heavy pocket folder trimmed a little as the cover.

FYI: The large Happy Planner has markers for the Classic size sheets, so you don’t need to buy both size punches.

So many great options. I have normally been a classic three-ring binder person. We have also found that for the kids, we need VERY STURDY binding, because they are really not careful enough with turning pages to do any sort of binding that can somewhat easily fall apart.

I have mini punches for holes so I know that is one way to take care of siral binding if I want to and would really like the feel of thermal binding as it looks clean and professional. Thermal is just faster, you just need to place t bunch of papers into the heat and it will take care of itself. :)

I love my ProClick! I have also tried a comb binder but really disliked it. For our next unit, Space, I used Barnes & Noble press with spiral binding - mainly just to compare to the printing from Gather Round. I haven’t received it yet though. Even if I decide to print that way from now on, I still have tons of other things I will use my ProClick for.

Correction...I used Lulu Xpress for my printing and binding. I forgot that I was never able to use Barnes and Noble because it wouldn’t upload my files. Lulu Xpress cost around $25 to print the Space Teacher’s Guide and Student Notebook with spiral binding and thick covers. The printing looks professional too. Just another option if you didn’t want to DIY.

I haven't used the pro-click yet, but I know official Happy Planner pages are 32lb paper. If you're going to be punching a lot, skip the Happy Planner punch and get a Levenger punch. I can do 8-10 sheets of 32lb paper for my custom planner with no problems.

I love the spiral bound books and I love the idea of spiral binding my books I just can’t justify it. You are so lucky that you were gifted that that’s amazing. What do you think the cost differential is between having your own spiral binder and taking it somewhere like Kinko’s or something?

I was trying to do the math on how many times I would bind before I reached the price of the pro lock. I went to my local staples and paid $15 for 3 notebooks with clear cover and a black back. So roughly right under $5 per book bind. Turn around time for me that day was 15 min. Hope this helps!

Chanel Williams I had heard great things about the Instant Ink program. I now am apart of that, and I love it. If you are going to print a lot or for more than one child, you may want to look into the Ecotank.
