For everyone with newer Firmware: It's FrSky X then on the right switch D16 to D8 so FrSky X turns into FrSky D and make sure it says FrSky_D in the receiver tab in betaflight configuration page.

Hi! thanks for your videos, I am trying to go through binding my drone now however my radiomaster, while as you said does have a lot of Frsky modes, doesnt have any "standard" mode without letters after it, is the DRsky D okay?

Just got the TXs 16 Max, your videos have been SUPER helpful! Thank you so much! Also, I can confirm those little Tiny Hawk props can draw blood at the right spot & speed. Wasn't on the bench (I know better) but I did manage to crash into while orbiting myself. Wasn't a trip to the ER or anything but definitely drew a little blood and stung like heck. Finally got mine to bind after hooking to Beta Flight ad using the command line interface. Had to change beta flight from TAER TO AETR. Now my TinyHawk S is under control.

My understanding of it (from the last time I did it) was that when binding on the radio, use FrSky and D8 as the protocol, and then choose FrSky D in the dropdown in Betaflight.

I just bought an Tinyhawk Freestyle 2 and the Radiomaster TX16s, and followed the binding process with the V1.3.1.36 AETR and everything works fine. If you are noob like me, you might think your drone it's not binded and doesn't arm; but make sure to check that your throttle stick it's all the way down before arming. Also if you see in betaflight that when you move your sticks, the levels are moving, it means it's binded.

You don't need to plug in the battery while you press the bind button. All you have to do is power up the drone then press the bind button power up the transmitter, go to page two, set to D8 mode and press bind. Set up your switches and you are flying.

@@TahoeSteve Even with the bind_rx spi command it won't bind. In reflashed it and new firmware. Had it bindind for a while but the controls on Betaflight were the opposite or no response on the designated controller (even armed was in the red). Looks like an awesome hobby but for the moment its frustrating the hell out of me.

@@TahoeSteve thanks Steve got the drone to bind. In Betaflight tab configuration the receiver had to be set to FrSky D, stood in FrSky X now it binds. @@k9workingdogsbelgium791 Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was it, I was doing this process over and over and no bind, then I went to Configure Receiver in BetaFlight and I changed "receiver" from Frysky_X to Frysky_D and it worked!!! (as of 3rd April 2021)

Followed instructions but when it goes to bind I get red/blue flashing instead of steady blue. Any idea what’s wrong? Only thing I see different from your setup is under Internal RF/Receiver no. Yours says 00 and mine says 01. Tried 00 like yours but it says another model is using it. This is my first model though. Haven’t tried beta flight yet but will do so tonight if I can’t get this to work.

Very useful video. But, can I improve vertical stability of the Freestyle 2? It is vary stable in flight except, height needs to be corrected continuously. I can fly it very well in LOS, but in FPV, no way. Is it possible have it keeping height a bit more constant? Thanks!

Any analogue goggle should be fine. They operate on radio frequencies so no binding is necessary. You just need to know what frequency you are on, and be sure to know the laws about what frequencies you can use in your area.

Steve Thanks for the video. I just got the Tinyhawk2 with my RMTX16s when I go to bind the quad to the radio it does bind the blue light goes solid but the red light keep flashing. I have done this 3 times and no matter what the red light keeps flashing.. Thanks for any help.

Not 100% clear on your question, but in the video, I just showed 2 different ways to bind. Either will work on their own. For the TH2 with SLI, binding in the CLI is easiest.

Hi Steve Firstly, you have helped me so so much and i thankyou! I Have flown helis for 10 years and have a good understanding of electronics, previous Automotive ECU Carear. I have a new T16s which at the time didnt have my larva x F4 v3.0 but had a few specktrum rx's. So i bound my new radio to my blade 150s as3x/safe. It bound flawlessly. THE PROBLEM IS, now even though system is set to aetr1234 the dsm s/x models mapping has constantly changed to dsm s/x aetr so when i bind my larva x dsm to tx16s it wont arm, bind it to my Spektrum dx6 radio and its fine! Why has the channel map for dsm x/s constantly changed? Thankyou for your time

Great video series! I am new to FPV drones and I just got the Tinyhawk II v2 as my first drone. Your series on theTX16s is fantastic and exactly what I needed to get started with my radio. This series topped it off allowing me to get my Tinyhawk up and flying. Thank you so much for doing this and passing on your knowledge and experience to those in need. I noticed you didn't add AUX4 to the settings in Betaflight or set it up on the TX16s. Does turtle mode not work in the Tinyhawk II or did you leave that as a good exercise for us noobies?

Thank you Steve for the great videos really breaking everything down! I purchased the RTF bundle tiny hawk for my kid and I have this setup, along withthe tinyhawk 2 whih is what im having an issue with! I tried to go on to the OSD and change the channel to what i though was 1 so I could rip with my kid and now I cant find any video on any channel! It was set on "4" and I know i put it to "1", not messing with the band, leaving it in Race. Is there any where I can go to change this or get the video back?! Im super new to this and appreciate any help!! Thank you!!

You may need to unlock your Tinyhawk 2's vtx (if allowed by your countries regulations). This can be accomplished by pressing the vtx button while powering on the drone. All indicator lights are on means it's unlocked, lights off means it's locked. If that doesn't work connect the drone to betaflight and reset the channel to 4 (or confirm it's set to 1) in the video transmitter tab.
