when we kids would fight over the last meatball on the platter at dinner--Dad would break out with that phrase. We had no idea what it was about--he thought it was funny. YEARS later I was waiting on an older gent and he asked for a meatball as a side, and automatically I broke out with that phrase--He jaw dropped and said "you're too young to know that song!".

Ah, but Lauritz Melchior was one of the greatest tenors of the 20th Century. And Big was...well Bing!
