I can't imagine the pain and emptiness he felt. Then the worry about how to take care of her and try to get back to normal life while realizing its not possible. She is still the main concern.

This is the only part of the 2019 film that I will give credit to - exploring the idea of what it would be like to try and live with the returned. I didn't like very much else about it, especially the absolutely mind boggling decision to leave Timmy Baterman out of the remake, which is unbelievable because Jud telling Louis his story was his best argument about why he should not bury someone in the burial ground.

Both Pet Sematary 1989 and 2019 can't really get the horror right on the reanimated people, which I totally understand because you are talking about a child actor. The description of the returned Gage in the novel is absolutely disgusting and I realize that they couldn't really put that on film, but one of my gripe is that the zombies/revenants/returned look too "normal".

Although alot of folks hated this switch up but nonetheless the girl who played Ellie done a pretty damn good job with what she had to work with. The way she acts whenever she makes her dad uncomfortable is like showing how much it enjoys feeding off there sadness, dread, and despair. It's heartbreaking to watch if you put yourself in Louis shoes.

His story in the book is to me the scariest aspect of it and how he interacts with folks. Instead of just killing em it just fucks with em. I wanna see that explored a bit more.

They made her evil over night, there is no explanation. At least in the original when "the child" comes back they are Evil right away, this. Makes no sense, what they could have done, was have her be normal then she starts asking about church, and maybe after he lies about the cat being fine, she's says something like "he told me what you did" then walks off then starts being evil In order to get vengeance for her cats death.

@@maryclark7037 I would say watch the movie called "pet sematary" but if you want to know how that little girl came back to life then I can explain Spoilers: That little girl died earlier in the movie and got buried like normal in a plain regular graveyard but there's another graveyard in this movie called the pet sematary and there is where pets are buried like cats and dogs but when a cat or dog or any other pet gets buried there then they come back alive but they are not the same they turn viscous and very nasty and that is because the pets are possessed by a demon which comes from the dirt in the pet sematary so the father of that little girl digs up his own daughter in the normal graveyard and takes her dead body to the pet sematary and buries her there thinking if the pet sematary can bring pets back to life then maybe it might be able to bring humans back to life too and it does bring the little girl back to life but and even though she looks and sounds the same she is very different and that is because of the demon that has possessed her dead body while she was in the pet sematary and then she kills her mom and tries to kill her dad in the ending of the movie but it's the demon inside of her body that made her do it Sorry for the long explanation but I hope this helps 🙂

I love how Undead Ellie is mentally messing with Louis here. By asking him where she came back from, trying to make him say that she’s dead, making him sleep with her and telling him that she loves him. Undead Ellie is trying to mess with him because she wants to make him uncomfortable and make him feel deluded. Also I don’t understand why she doesn’t just kill him straight away like they do in the books or the original film. Maybe they wanted to make her more intimidating.

I have to admit I quite like this version. It's quite different to the 1989 Mary Lambert movie, which was shot entirely in Stephen king's home state of Maine. I feel this is a somewhat darker movie than Lambert's original, and in some ways a better movie. The changing of the little girl being killed by the truck rather than the little boy kinda works for this movie. A very good movie, I think. I give it four out of five skulls 💀💀💀💀

I just can't get on board with it still being HER. The zombies in Pet Sematary are basically vehicles for demons to pilot. There is no former intelligence left in the body, outside of what the demon imitates. That said, I enjoyed Pet Sematary Two and Gus was an intelligent zombie with some of his former personality, but this was a remake. They could have cut 10% out, changed it here and there and called in Pet Sematary III. I hate how bungled this franchise got. How the hell do you mess up something as cool as a pet themed zombie franchise?

It wasn’t still her though. She left her body as soon as she died. What came back was her body reanimated by the Wendigo. In the book, when Timmy Baterman came back, he totally messed with the townspeople’s heads, such as telling one person that her dad commited suicide because of her. The Wendigo knows the deepest thoughts and fears of everyone, so it didn’t surprise me that it seemed like Ellie when she came back. It knew her thoughts and memories too and put on a good act!

I just had to get my husky Xena cremated there was an odd story by my first husband's family about a cat that they shot and buried up in the Oklahoma native American land and he fucking came back when my poodle died 15 years ago I was so distraught I wanted to try it so bad but was reminded even if it worked she wouldn't be the same. Now my older brother and then my husky passed exactly 1 week apart and I love animals especially dogs more than people except for my grandparents/adoptive parents and kids I suffer from severe chronic depression and anxiety that I didn't get another dog for 10 years after my poodle passed then the one that imprinted on me and I fell in love with had two siblings and I got all three because I didn't have the heart to split them now my remaining 2 are depression waiting for her to come back I can't help but wonder if I did more harm than good trying to keep them together. I have all my dogs urns and am getting a tattoo of a paw print that says all dogs go to heaven. I can't imagine losing one of my children or husband even though we're "separated" he's here every day he's sleeping right next to me right now. She was his dog eden is mine and daemon is all of ours I feel like he blames me he's so angry that she died without a cause just died possible heart failure or pulmonary embolism. My son survived a school shooting earlier this year I like to think she gave her life so my son could live.
