FYI to get teh shell of a boiled egg, put it in a glass jar with warm water about 2/3 full, put the lid on, and shake out around. then take it off and the shell will have been removed.

Was Alan genuinely annoyed at the Orient Express explanation?

Doubtful. But reactions are all a part of what makes this show great

Does anyone know Liza’s song @1:28 ? I’ve tried googling the lyrics and so many options came up, but couldn’t find the right one!

Bertie Wooster's(or, rather, Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse's) adjective was "oojah-cum-spiff " and NOT spliff, as the famously innocent and unworldly Wodehouse would never have heard of such an esoteric word (if the word existed c.1935). The portmanteau word means "quite splendid ".

7:59 .. .NOT an oyster 'shucker" .. it is an oyster 'opener' .. then you need to scrap the inside of the shell to cut the membrane away friom the shell ( which is the shucking part ) ... just opening the shell does not meet the defenition ( in the US ) of shucking an oyster !

@@hhunstad2011he was doing authentic comedy, that was inclusive in its approach and was based on affection for the people that those of us who live in a diverse society are familiar with. There were no negative intentions, it added color and life to the show.

Yes, his character was called Precious Little, who ran a coffee stall and did everything she could to do no work. It was an accurate depiction of most coloureds.

Aren't the French still that empty headed?

As better men have said , Paris is not France, and Hamsun went to Paris. Being a Great Man,he would have been grovelled to by the Paris intelligentsia, but people met casually would have been as rude as they always are. And as dishonest. I've wondered about it for years, and I think that the Parisians resent the fact that they're incidental - it's the city that matters.

This episode was kind of disappointing, the humor seems to be going downhill rather quickly lately.
