With toast he won’t need as much gravy because there is less moisture in the bread therefore a dip is perfectly fine. You want something good and balanced, not overly gravied.
@chriminalthoughts6 жыл бұрын
Vincenza8907 so because toast is dryer it requires less gravy? That just makes it dryer than the sum of its parts. It doesn't matter what someone "might" want, the point was to follow the recipe accurately.

ChrisIsBliss no because it is dryer it is more absorbant and it does not need to be a soggy mess and will maintain its structure better. Was that better?

Laura Yadira Maldonado Once upon a time, little Cynical was hungry and his mother was absent. After being hungry for a while, a thought formed inside his head: "Why don't I try to cook something for myself? It can't be that difficult; I helped in the kitchen a few times already!" Thus, he started. But what he didn't notice, is that he left his cooking gloves on the wrong hotplate and turned it on by accident. Unbeknownst of what was happening inside the kitchen, he went into the bathroom to get ready, since he only just made his way out of his bed. ... A few minutes passed. Little Cynical noticed a funny smell. Once he opened the door, the bathroom quickly filled with grey, thick smoke. Cynical grabbed a wet towel. Cynical realised that he fucked up. Moral of story: Don't leave your stuff on the hotplate, and by all means, watch out which one you turn on. It could be the last hotplate you turn on! On another note: The guy got a little more than 10k subscribers in less than a day. Happy for him.

I took over the cooking for Thanksgiving this year and based nearly my entire menu off these recipes. I made the butterflied turkey, stock, cranberry sauce, gravy, and stuffing from this video. Everything was outstanding but the stuffing in particular was the star of the show. I highly recommend! Making stock from scratch is a very rewarding experience.

So I've added like 8 gallons of water to the cranberries but they keep floating above the water. How do I cover them?
@ri0tgh0ooul898 жыл бұрын
Try using a small pot that constricts the berries, be sure to add the water in slowly as to not force any berries to possibly vibrate out of place. If that doesn't work, use room temperature water.
@pippincovington13487 жыл бұрын
People I Might Know use heavy water. duh
@johannxlising7 жыл бұрын
Pippin Covington if u use heavy water (im assuming you mean that the water is just a heavier "type" or subcategory of water) the berries would actually float more, since the heavy water would stay at the bottom. the real solution is to use lighter or less dense water, which would make the berries sink due to them being denser.
@winonadaphne64457 жыл бұрын
put a plate over the cranberries and add water till it surrounds the edge

How to make a sandwich step 1. Make an entire Thanksgiving dinner :) Seriously though I've never seen someone recommend a butterfly roasting technique for their turkey! What are the advantages? Disadvantage of course is the atypical table presentation...
@FrisbeeGirl8 жыл бұрын
The advantage to the atypical presentation style is that with the turkey already sliced or portioned, the whole group can share the meal together faster.

My family has always done this. It ensures an even cook to reduce the amount of dry areas, sorta like why you pound chicken breasts to get them to an even thickness. And it reduces the cooking time significantly!
@silviaruiz75468 жыл бұрын
youmongrel it cooks faster and more evenly, therefore its juicier.
So glad that someone else knew where this technique came from (or at least who popularized the method). I would say Kenji Lopez Alt is underrated, but he did earn a James Beard Award, so... probably not, lol. I personally prefer his Butterflied Roasted Chicken With Quick Jus Recipe, though.

living in Boston all my life, i've grown quite.....irate with the existence of turkeys. you would be too if you had to replace a transmission cuz a turkey saw it's reflection in your car's hood and thought it was another turkey lookin to rumble. naturally this makes Thanksgiving time a time of joy that i get to behead the fowl beast, and desecrate it's carcass for my own....that got dark. anyway, nice to come back to this in May and get all nostalgic for the best time of year to be from New England.
