ব্যাপক সম্ভাবনা থাকা সত্ত্বেও বিভিন্ন বাধার কারণে বাংলাদেশে বিদেশি বিনিয়োগ আশানুরূপ নয়। তবে স্থানীয় উদ্যোক্তাদের কাছে কোনো কিছুই বাধা নয়। এমন মন্তব্য করেছেন, প্রাণ-আরএফএল গ্রুপের চেয়ারম্যান ও সিইও আহসান খান চৌধুরী। সম্প্রতি ‘TBS FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION’ এ তিনি আরও বলেন, বিদেশি বিনিয়োগকারীদের জন্য সব কিছু সহজ ও শিথিল করা উচিত। পাশাপাশি মিয়ানমার থেকে বিনিয়োগকারীদের আনতে টাস্কফোর্স গঠনের পরামর্শ তাঁর। তবে এ সব বাধা দূর করতে আমলাতন্ত্র ও রাজনৈতিক নেতৃত্বকে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। তাহলে বাংলাদেশকে বিনিয়োগের স্বর্গ বানানো সম্ভব বলেও মনে করেন আহসান খান চৌধুরী।

আইন করা উচিত এসব বড় কোম্পানী যেনো ক্ষুদ্র শিল্পতে ভাগ না বসায়, এদের জন্য হাজার হাজার লোকের সম্ভাবনা নষ্ট হয়ে গেছে, এরা কেনো ভারী শিল্পের দিকে ইনভেস্ট বাড়ায় না! ব্যাংকের টাকা নিয়ে ক্ষুদ্র শিল্পের সাথে সংশ্লিষ্ট বহু মানুষের সম্ভাবনা নষ্ট করার কারিগর এরা।

আমি মনে করি না বিদেশি বিনিয়োদ একটা দেশের টেকসই উন্নয়নের অবকাঠামোর একটা অংশ। বিদেশি বিনিয়োগের কারণে অনেক ক্ষেত্রে স্থানিয় বিনিয়োগকারিরা নিরূৎসাহিত হয়। এটা খুবি দুঃখজক যে এসব ব্যাপারগুলো নিয়ে কোন গবেষনা হয় না। একটা দেশ সফল হওয়ার মূল মন্ত্র হলো গবেষনা যে কাজে আমাদের দেশ ১০০ বছর পিছিয়ে।

I believe we do not focus on the real problem. There are basic differences between the political system of Vietnam and that of Bangladesh. There are also differences between the characteristics of the people of Vietnam and the people of Bangladesh. Vietnam is a communist country and very few freedom of rights their people enjoy. The people of Vietnam are happy with what their government can provide them. There is no political crisis and every citizen believes that Vietnam is their country and it takes priority over any other thing. They never create political crisis and they never go to any foreign embassy to lodge complain against their government. They never hire any foreign lobbyist to harm their own country's trade and business. On the contrary, Bangladesh is a so-called democratic country. Here the basic flaws of our character is that we want to enjoy 100% freedom and basic human rights but we always neglect to perform our own citizen duties towards the State and the people. Our people are quarrelsome and revengeful. On national issues we never have any consensus. This is the nation of succeeding generations of Mir Zafars. Mir Zafars were not born in Vietnam. They were born in Bengal. We are their succeeding generation. So, we can never be like the people of Vietnam. Bangladesh does not have any foreign enemy now. We don't need any foreign enemy and rival to harm us. Our own people are enough to cause the maximum harms to our country. Our own people go to foreign governments, parliaments, media houses to stop trade and all relations with the government of Bangladesh in order to put the government in economic crisis so that the economic crisis can help them to capture political power. Thus, if we want to be Vietnam, the people of Bangladesh should be Vietnamese first.

Export is going down due the quality of goods and most of the company has no corporate culture. So foreign investors don't trust on Bangladesh companies. Owners act as God in a Company which unfortunate. Everyone should avoid plastic items in our country. They should value employees and they should have employment opportunity.
