Well, the series of wars between France, and England/United Kingdom had been the longest-lasting conflict in World History (between two existing countries, anyway). The first time the king of France, and the king of England went to war against each other, had been in the 1100s (the conflict between king Louis le Gros of France, and his more powerful feudal vassal, king Henri Beauclerc of England); and the last time France, and the United Kingdom went to war against each other, was in the 1800s (the war between emperor Napoléon Bonaparte of France, and the United Kingdom).

If you are fighting in a full on war with an opponent a few miles away it doesn't make sense to go after the far away overseas territories unless you are in a position of extreme disadvantage. The point of the overseas territories is to use as a staging area against far away enemies. In this war the enemy will likely concentrate on lone ships and lone bases which are closer. If I were France I would be using Spec ops and strike forces for attacking radar sites, ports and lone ships in Wales and Scotland and maybe Northern Ireland to force the English to move troops to different parts of the islands and to stretch them out. Then I would use my large forces in large decisive engagements.

These videos aren’t meant to be taken excessively seriously, but it’s sobering as a Brit to consider the advantages France would have in such a conflict (less reliance on the US for military spares etc / ability to keep land trade open with Germany, Spain, Italy etc, / ability to trade with the Far East via Marseille so long as the Suez Canal is open). But that said, Binkov will increasingly need to assess cyber war and drone capability in these videos, and just maybe the UK has an edge there. Last but not least, the 2021 British defence review makes more sense in this light - no real prospect of MBTs being used in such a conflict whilst naval forces and cyber would indeed be at a premium.

2:39 In conclusion, the Eurofighter is capable on paper of being able to point its nose much more quickly in the desired direction. As for the Rafale, is able to evolve longer with a higher angle of attack, and a lower speed. This conclusion could become a fact when we see the results of the various confrontations where the Rafale had to face the Eurofighter, where the latter systematically seems to be struggling during combat simulations in BFM. The lack of vectorial thrust planned at the start is lacking here. But its absence is even more problematic in another area, and it is not impossible that it is on the agenda of a future evolution of the device. Exit the euro-fighter and Iron (f-35).
