This video lesson introduces the meaning and typical values of rate constants for antibody-antigen binding; how to calculate the longevity of a bound complex, and a brief intro to how rate constants are measured experimentally.
Learning goals:
1. Draw a plot of binding over time for a receptor-ligand pair.
2. List typical rate constants for antibody-antigen association and dissociation
3. Calculate the half-life of an antibody-antigen complex
4. Describe the basics of how k-a (k-on) and k-d (k-off) are measured experimentally
