Respected sir, In vasudevan, non competitive inhibition is given in irreversible and also written that inhibitor combines with enzymes by forming a covalent bond. Sir please clarify it. Thank you
@Rajesh_Jambhulkar4 жыл бұрын
Content is taken from Tietz textbook of Biochemistry. Non-competitive inhibition is sometime irreversible. In some books Competitive and Non-competitive mentioned while in some non-competitive is mentioned under reversible inhibition. Vasudevan is good book. Just follow any one book for this topic.

Sir inhibitors binds to the enzyme or substrate?
@jwalantkumaragravat32 Жыл бұрын
Sir I have 1 question regarding non competitive and uncompetitive inhibition Why km value is not changed in non competitive inhibition because when inhibitor binds with ENZYME or ES complex ( binding site for I and S is Different) but inhibitor will not decrease the affinity for substrate, because it cause some conformational changes at catalytic site ???
@Rajesh_Jambhulkar Жыл бұрын
In noncompetitive inhibition Inhibitor does not affect the binding of substrate to the enzyme. It's efficiency to convert the substrate into the product is decreased.
