Hi Matheus N, thanks for clearing that up. Just checked it again and you are right, it's just really difficult to see it. Underneath it looks like the other packages from Bioderma. Usually one expects a nicer packaging inside a sleeve, like a box or something but you really don't get that... Thanks Jesper BSc

Hi Mahdi A, thanks for your question. It does not say how much is in it, however I would not use a daily product that contains Salicylic Acid, as it by the Danish University DTU has been proved to be a hormone disruptor in animal studies, Homosalate which is a derivative of it is just in the EU (by SCCS) said to be only safe up to a limit of 0.5% but could be problematic when in general used together with Salicylic Acid in a routine. The take away message is that Salicylic Acid day in and day out might not be the best thing to do. Rather I would go for a product with Azelaic Acid in the evening, then a sunscreen without Salicylic Acid derivatives in the daytime, if possible (Homosalate and Ethylhexyl Salicylate are examples of Salicylic Acid derivatives used in sunscreens) SCCS, Homosalate ec.europa.eu/health/system/files/2021-06/sccs_o_244_0.pdf As always, doing as I do, say, show, write, or whatsoever is at one's own risk regardless. Hello Jesper, I love your videos! 😊 Very informative, interesting and relaxing too for me, which is a plus! Sometimes even very funny, like when you review the tints of some sunscreens (like horrific Avene Mineral tinted...!! I have it too and can't figure out how Avene can think that really weird tint will suit anyone 🧐🙄). Anyway... Just wanted to say I tried Photoderm Nude Touch yesterday in Light and was really impressed 😮 The tint was quite acceptable (not perfect, but quite good from all the tinted sunscreens I have tried), the finish was very elegant (wow!) and to top it off, when I cleansed my face at night my skin was MUCH better than before I put on the sunscreen. I was shocked. Better texture, softer and any bumps disappeared or largely reduced. I'm sure that's the salicylic acid, but now concerned, since you found that study proving it's a hormone disruptor. What would you use to get that effect without salicylic acid? (Btw, complete newby to skincare even if I'm not young) Thank you very much in advance! 😊

Hi Hvitlys, thanks for your comments. I believe the sunscreen is a mineral sunscreen (therefore should not contain derivates of Salicylic Acid in the form of sunfilters, correct me if I'm wrong) and needs shaken up before use, do you use the correct amount of about 1.25 ml? When I talk about Ethylhexyl Salicylate as one example of a Salicylic Acid derivate in sunscreen (there are others) then it does not necessarily act as Salicylic Acid in the sense of cleaning pores for example but can still have the hormone disruptive effects of Salicylic Acid. The Danish consumer council "TÆNK" tells consumers to avoid sunscreens with Salicylic Acid derivatives as the Danish university, DTU, has in animal studies proved Salicylic Acid to be a hormone disruptor. Therefore I like to tell people about it and I avoid products with it and Salicylic Acid as such, it's in a lot of products so combined one might get a lot on a daily basis if not careful, that's not necessarily the same as a one off treatment to clear clogged pores is dangerous (but if pregnant I would avoid doing that). Instead I would use Azelaic Acid, maybe the one from The Ordinary 50 ml or this one that does not have Dimethicone in it, the one called Q+A Azelaic Acid Facial Serum 30 ml (I have not tried it yet). @@JesperOffersenBSc Thanks so much for your replies, Jesper! :) I'll check the azelaic acid products you mention. Interestingly enough, I had sent a photo of mine to a pharmacy specialising in skincare and they recommended salicylic + azelaic for my skin, so it looks like you both are experts and know exactly my skin (and definitely much better than me! I though I had dry skin... my derm recently said I had mixed skin... now it looks like it might even be slightly oily -just no shine or visible oils I guess reduced from age, as it was definitely oily years ago). Thank you for your encouragement :) I'm starting with daily sunscreen + cleansing at night + eye contour (trust me, that's already a lot for me, I didn't do anything at all). Regarding Photoderm Nude Touch, which I mentioned visibly improved my skin just with one wear, it definitely has salicylic acid in it (the formula I have has no chemical filters that are derivatives of salicylic acid, just mineral filters zinc oxide and titanium dioxide + salicylic acid). You also mention in your video how come this Photoderm Nude Touch needs a patent on some sebum reducing stuff, when they include salicylic acid in the formula, which clearly works against this :) BTW, I did apply the correct amount, definitely not too little and I didn't treat it as make up either (didn't put it with a sponge or a brush, like many people do with tinted sunscreens... But then they are applying way too little product, so not enough SPF protection!!). It still worked out well for me :) Thank you very much again

Hi again Hvitlys, thanks for the link, the product seem not available on the UK site but still in Spain and France. I don't have the product any longer but yes it has directly Salicylic Acid in it, though not as a sunfilter, as it's a mineral sunscreen. Basically, I think, crazy to make a mineral sunscreen where people try to avoid sunfilters like those that are derivatives of Salicylic Acid, like Homosalate, and Ethylhexyl Salicylate and then add Salicylic Acid. As you say you are over the worst teenage years, I doubt you need Salicylic acid in your routine particularly if you use Azelaic Acid and maybe Lactic Acid and a gentle scrub now and then, you can see my videos on two methods I use kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZjGfZmrnceBp8k and kzbin.info/www/bejne/fX7IpHyJfsika6M usually store bought scrubs leaves the skin dry, instead of the Micellar Water Boost Facial Gel Wash from Simple, one can use the CeraVe hydrating cleanser. Thanks for reviewing this. I wanted to buy it but now I'll try something else. I have a question for you regarding the sunscreen: how long can you use it? Bioderma sunscreen's last 3 years but they have a PAO sign that says 6M, and I'm quite confused. So when does the sunscreen expire, 6 months after opening or 3 years?

Hi Lemonady, thanks for your question. Well, after opening, it will last 6 months under normal conditions. The 3 years you refer to means when the bottle is not opened yet. The one I have says that it expires 09/2022 but when opened it's the 6M logo that counts. Best Jesper BSc

Thank you. I love this product but It sucks that we have to use a lot to have 50+ proteccion and when we do that, it never sets and it's so glowy :( I'm not sure about using powder to take shininess away because I'm afraid that brush or sponge absorb product

Hi can kog, thanks for commenting. It's the usual problem as for many sunscreens, using the right amount and it's often a totally different ball game than expected. Using setting powder has to be done gently if at all (it was meant partly as a joke). One often see people using sunscreen and then smear around a makeup brush, round and round, in the face and one could very well wonder how much SPF ends up in the brush rather than on the face at the end. Letting the sunscreen "set" and so on, yeah, but there are limits to "setting power", surely the SPF will slip and slide somewhat. Best Jesper BSc
