Biofilm Busters for Gut Infections: DO YOU NEED THEM?// Treatment resistant gut infections are sometimes due to microbial biofilms. In this video, I discuss what is biofilm, what is a biofilm buster, what to use for gut biofilm breakdown, and how to get rid of biofilm. This is valuable for those with SIBO, IBS, any kind of dysbioisis or other gut infection.

@@nicolaroberts4405 my oldest son has chronic Lyme, and the Biofilm Phase 2 product is the one my Naturopath has recommended. My son uses it 5 days on, 2 days off, and really finds benefit from it. It's a long term strategy, but he really notices that symptoms are less under control when he's not using it, or if we run out. I hope that helps, and thank you so much for watching.

Yes I’ve been using Interfase plus and I’m not impressed with it when trying to deal with Candida. Only a few months in at two capsules per day and it has made symptoms much worse .I thought it was die off but I have since found out on a forum that is has something in it that may feed Candida .So it weakens the biofilms but feeds the Candida at the same ,a vicious cycle that makes Candida even more aggressive.than before .My advice is stay well away from Klaire Labs Interfase Plus if you have Candida.. I believe the Cellulase in it feeds Candida . What is the name of biofilm buster you mentioned in this video ,I didn’t catch ? I’m trying to find an alternative that won’t feed the little critter. Also I just wonder if you have ever heard of Micheal Biamonte ? He’s an expert in Candida and has some podcasts on Apple called the “ The Candida Chronicles “. Been listening and I’m shocked at how intelligent Candida is it’s brilliant at survival ,very devious pathogen .Just been doing some research on it and according to him the antifungals should always be rotated every 21 days . .He’s not keen on the keto diet either and believes the ketones may actually feed the Candida ,very interesting but controversial I’m sure .

Thank you very much! Extremely helpful! 🙏 I’ve been taking NAC+bromelain and ALA for antinfiammatory purposes and noticed immediate relief of my SIBO/IBS symptoms, I now know why! I knew my issues were caused by fungal overgrowth, but taking standard natural antimicrobicals worsened my constipation… when I shifted to a carnivore diet (especially fatty fish) rich in garlic, oregano, basil, thyme, apple cider vinegar + rosemarin & grapefruit seeds supplements things got better, but NAC + bromelain and ALA were real game-changers. I’m now reintroducing resistant starch, a very little bit once a day in order to nourish butyrrate-producing bacteria, very important for constipation… Here is the list: 1. NAC: n-acetyl-cysteine; 2. alpha-lipoid acid ALA; 3. coconut oil / mct oil; 4. Enzymes 5. Biofilm Phase-2 advanced (supplement). Binders: 1. GI detox; 2. Activated charcoal (might increase constipation); 3. Bentonite clay.

I took a biofilm buster (Fibrenza) for 2 weeks prior to a GI Map stool test. Immediately the white crud vanished from my tongue and my constipation vanished. GI Mao test came back with H. Pylori - which I’ve since read can form a biofilm. So - I highly recommend them to help isolate your root cause!

Were you previously negative for H. Pylori, and the biofilm buster was able to free the H Pylori into your stool? Or do you mean that the biofilm buster completely eradicated the H. The only supplements that have caused die off for me are both NAC and Phase 2 Advanced that you mentioned. Interestingly, "essiac" has caused the same reaction. Is there a connection between biofilm and leaky gut? If so, could one suffer from both issues? As I understand it; leaky gut is a breach in the gut lining's permeability, and so, some things would pass through and affect the nervous symptoms (causing brain inflammation), but wouldn't a biofilm cover the biofilm? It's a little confusing.

Yes you can get a fungal overgrowth, like candida
@ConfluenceNutrition
@ConfluenceNutrition 2 жыл бұрын
Biofilm is a normal layer of mucousy material made by bacteria, so is not in and of itself associated with leaky gut. It's typically found in the large intestine, where bacteria live. The small intestine is where leaky gut really happens, and there typically shouldn't be much bacteria there. The challenge with biofilm is that pathogens, if present, can hide from treatment. Does that help clarify it?

Coffee enemas, in my mind, are more supportive for detoxing the liver and improving peristalsis. IF they are feeling supportive, you can absolutely include them in your protocol. But if they leave you feeling depleted or otherwise unwell, best to leave them a lone. H pylori in particular tends to reduce stomach acid levels somewhat, and stomach acid is part of the trigger mechanism for pancreatic enzymes. Have you retested to be sure the infections are gone post treatment? Somehow doctors seem often to not do this...and SIBO could definitely be part of the picture, if you haven't already assessed for that.
@richiep3520

@@ConfluenceNutrition I haven't been retested for h pylori but I think I definately should get checked again. Sibo needs tested as it wasn't done. Epi is so strange when it goes outside the normal pancreatitis/CF or surgery complications. Was stated it is idiopathic but I'm certain it's from previous infections. Im just hoping to have more answers but I may never get them. This l you for taking the time to write back to me. I very much appreciate it. Take care 🙂

@@richiep3520 You're welcome. I often say that when we don't have a clear cause, sometimes the best we can hope for it to learn from what helps and what makes things worse what the mechanism of the symptoms is. @ConfluenceNutrition

@@hardwiredtoselfdestruction3401 This is true in theory. The hydrogen peroxide is something to used with a high level of caution. For all the people who have experienced positive results, there are also those who misused the material and have damaged their guts. Always follow proper dilution, and don't go beyond recommended amounts. Also, as with anything, start low and go slow, to assess where your personal tolerance is. Personally, I think there are other agents that are safer to use.

Yes, it can kill infections very well. But if the biofilm is hiding the infection, then the silver won't be able to reach all of it. This is why biofilm busters are important.

Hi Amanda. I know they use NAC to Treat overdose of some meds. Do you think it reduces the effectiveness of Fluconazole (wich I'm taking to deal with intestinal Candida)? that is my concern. I dont know if I should take both (NAC and Fluconazole) at same time of day or separate as much as possible... Or maybe completly separating doing cycles (like 1 week NAC, 1 week Fluco, NAC, Fluco...). Thanx for you time.

NAC acts as a biofilm buster, among other things, so from my perspective, it can be a helpful thing to include with an anti-fungal protocol. It can be used at the same time as the antimicrobial, or away from, whatever works best for you. Thanks for watching!

@@ConfluenceNutrition yeah correct. The benefit of using garlic as opposed to fluconazole is that it doesn't wipe out the good bacteria and it prevents cancer rather than potentially causes it. Mice used in testing developed cancer from flucanazole. Most pharmaceutical antibiotics make you feel awful and have a ton of horrible side effects far worse than the original problem that doctors don't even bother to mention when prescribing it. Not to mention, having to most likely deal with a yeast infection afterwards. Each to their own ;)

More like halts. Im going to Stamford next week. They have a motility clinic & I should be able to get this figured out after the Cipro disaster. I’ve ceased all probiotics because I don’t know if the probiotics just give it more nutrients. My question is this 1) how important is it to take neomycin with rifixan? Vs one or the other. And 2) I saw that Methane dominant sibo is now called something else to convey a new understanding of the disease process. I’m sure you know it. Cinnamon, allycin in tincture, and some supplement that contains horse chestnut and an osmotic laxative. Have you any experience with a therapy course like this? @@richardworker9280 Hi Richard...in my understanding, the standard protocol is the rifaximin WITH neomycin OR metronidazole. This is the protocol that Dr. Pimentel has studied in his clinical trials. Rifaximin alone usually isn't enough. And if you have a stubborn case, biofilm buster can be necessary too. I would not use anything with horse chestnut in it...and laxatives can be valuable, but in my opinion, we want to do our best to avoid them. I wouldn't expect cinnamon and allicin alone to deal with SIBO. The herbal protocols are a little more involved, and it depends on which type of SIBO you have. Have you not been tested?
