I would note that if you lack a part like a pin, axle or bushing, consider checking out the remaining parts of the other combiners. e.g., - Tanua's parts from tahu and onua lack a 4-length axle yet Gali has one left over from Kopali - Kopali' parts from Gali and Kopaka lack yellow half-bushings yet Lewa has a few left over from Lehatu - Looking for blue half axle/pins? Onua or tahu might have some left over - And black pins? Kopaka and Gali have some leftover long story short/TL;DR: look in the other toa's remaining parts for lacking parts, assuming they're all disassembled

ive done it lehatu is just like fracture tanua is kinda like kulta kai (feet transformation) the chest is the back its like in vehicle mode with the arms and in robot mode with the crotch piece and onuas chest piece is folded down the wings will get turned araound so that they loom exactly loke before (althoug I think the have something to do with the red pins) and I think you know where lehatu and galaka go

Honestly, this would have been easier if you made it so it was 1 large toa + 1 small toa + their protectors, which would have allowed for more vehicle variety too.

I'd say the biggest problem with combiners is their weight. I somewhat solved that issue with Nomicon by using three figures that combine together instead of the usual five. My advice to you is to try and make the smallest combiner possible. Use few pieces and make the designs very simple yet effective. If you need designs, you could look to the Transformers Combiner Wars sets for inspiration. I know I did.

Problems with this MOC: One, an additional Bush for Cross Axle piece is used that is not included as part of either figure. Only 3 are included altogether, but 4 are used. Two, the figure is VERY top-heavy and can barely stand on its own.
