The Aga Khan Palace, which was built in 1843 by Aga Sultan Mohammed Shah in remembrance of the late Aga Hassan Ali Shah, in the historical Jhirk Town in district Thatta, still remains beautiful, portraying the proficient work of the architects of yesteryears.
Aga Khan I or Hasan Ali Shah was the governor of Kirman, 46th Imam of the Nizari Ismaili Muslims, and prominent Muslim leader in Iran and later in the Indian subcontinent. He was the first Nizari Iman to hold the title Aga Khan.
