It is an ungrateful nation if it forgets the contribution of PV Narasimha Rao, easily the best Prime Minister of all times. Inflation was low and people got full value for their money during his tenure. He did not trouble people by DeMo and GST or any other crippling taxes. He did not reduce bank/post office interest rates. He did not make false promises. He was not a drama master. He did not do publicity stunts or theatrics or emotional drama. There were no TV channels to market him. It was Narasimha Rao who opened up India's economy by globalisation and India is today what it is because of him. He laid the solid foundation in the early 1990s. Congress conveniently ignored Rao because he was very efficient and did not need to take orders from Madam Sonia Gandhi because that is the Congress culture to promote the Nehru-Gandhi family. Sadly, many of the present generation don't even know enough about Rao or his great contribution to the economy. Even propaganda channels like Times Now and Republic don't do enough to educate the public about Rao's achievements.
