Many data scientists use the Mahalanobis distance in their algorithms (Including me), but unfortunately most of them don't understand that even now. Most of the today's data scientists don't even know what is sampling plan and how it can be formulated and used he did it 50 years ago on a large scale. I think this should give you some context of how great a statistician he was.

असतो मा सदगमय ।। तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।। मृत्योर्मामृतम् गमय ।। ( हे प्रभु ) असत्य से सत्य की ओर ले चलो । अंधकार से प्रकाश की ओर ले चलो । मृत्यु से अमरता की ओर ले चलो । ( बृहदारण्यकोपनिषद् 1.3.28 ) यह शुक्ल यजुर्वेद का उपनिषद् है । उपरोक्त लिखित मन्त्र " असतो मा सदगमय ।। तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।। मृत्योर्मामृतम् गमय ।। " मूलतः सोमयज्ञ में स्तुति के समय यजमान द्वारा गया जाता है । अपनी संस्कृति का सम्मान करना सीखें । तभी विश्व आपका सम्मान करेगा । स्वयं मजाक बनाओगे तो आप, आपकी संस्कृति और पहचान का भी उपहास ही होगा । अपने महान् पूर्वजों की विरासत का अपमान न किया करें । 🙏 यह पवित्र वेदान्त से एक प्रार्थना है । अपने हास्य के लिए ऐसे पवित्र मंत्रों को भ्रष्ट न करें, यह पाप है । उद्दण्डता न करें और मर्यादाओं का रक्षण किया करें । 🙏 " धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः " आप धर्म की रक्षा करो, धर्म आपकी रक्षा करेगा । धर्म के प्रहरी बनो विध्वंसक नहीं । आपके कृत्यों द्वारा मानवता का रक्षण होने से ईश्वर आप पर प्रसन्न होंगे और धर्म विरूद्ध किए कुकृत्यों से निश्चित ही सृष्टि विधानानुसार नरक के भोगी बनोगे । धर्म की रक्षा करोगे तो आप स्वतः ही सुरक्षित हो जाएंगे ।
